Will there ever be a realistic college movie?

I am so sick of how college is represented in virtually every TV show and movie. It's beyond stereotypical. It seems like no one in Hollywood has ever been to college or set foot on a college campus. College is not non-stop partying, and fraternities and sororities do not rule the campus. In fact, no one really cares about fraternities and sororities except for the people in them. Some people may go to their parties once in a while, but that's as far as it goes. College is a much more serious place than most people believe, and the majority of students take their studies seriously and make them the number one priority. This is not to say that people don't party and have fun, but they don't do it all the time. The people that try to party all the time usually end up dropping out. Maybe this is just my university, but I'm pretty sure that most are like this. I'm pretty sure that if there ever was a realistic college movie it would be pretty boring. I know that they use the stereotypes to make the movies entertaining, but come on. It's getting a little ridiculous.

haha...the closest thing i've had thus far was a "girls gone wild topless themed party". you have no idea how hard it is to try and listen to what someone acutally has to say when theres multiple girls running around with nothing but pants on...but other than that i cant believe the *beep* they make school look like! major let down when you actually get here:(

At my college, fraternities and sororities aren't important at all (its not like you will be bored all the time if you don't join one) but there is still a lot of partying and clubbing. My school has one of the biggest NORML chapters in the USA and there's a lot of weed smoking (and some people doing shrooms), and we have a bunch of competing bars and clubs near campus that always have free drinks, $2 pitchers, free beer or other specials. There is a lot of partying in the off campus student housing, but none in the dorms because they aren't big enough and there are RA's. Its not uncommon for people to go out to a club or party on any random day of the week.

That said, I read someones comment about how "people who study a lot in college are the losers." He claimed to be in a fraternity. Thats a load of bull, I know so many people who study a lot and still drink and smoke weed. I also know people who got put on academic probation (having less than a 2.0 GPA) the first year because they didn't go to class, didn't study and/or missed tests. Anyone who thinks college is easy and says that only losers study, probably is an idiot highschooler who has never been to college.

Can't agree with you more. People who are saying there are hardly any parties at a campus are wrong. That really depends on the university you go to. There are places in the USA where it goes exactly the same as in College. They just cut out the parts where they are in classes, because they're pretty boring in a movie like this. Still, you do have to study a lot at a university. If you don't, you'll be kicked very soon and yes, you're probably a highschooler who has never been to college and probably never will..

it all really depends on where you go.........im gonna be a junior in college and let me tll you my freshman year was nothing but Boring...no parties or anything, i transferred to a public college my sophmore year and the partying is wild from bars letting you in at 18 to house parties thrown by frats on a tuesday night with strippers and ten kegs.....Granted partying is there for those who want to party but it depends on schools..most private univeristies have very srict policies about drinking and partying while public colleges (state funded) schools are more about having fun and letting you do what you like, very lienent and this is from first hand experience...Does anyone really think Harvard is like this???cmon now but trust me some state schools are major party schools including mine woohoo..some pretty crazy things can happen at college

I have worked security for a college and I have seen how some college students do like to party like how the movie was done. I have even been to college parties and they are similar or close to it but different though.
