Will there ever be a realistic college movie?

I am so sick of how college is represented in virtually every TV show and movie. It's beyond stereotypical. It seems like no one in Hollywood has ever been to college or set foot on a college campus. College is not non-stop partying, and fraternities and sororities do not rule the campus. In fact, no one really cares about fraternities and sororities except for the people in them. Some people may go to their parties once in a while, but that's as far as it goes. College is a much more serious place than most people believe, and the majority of students take their studies seriously and make them the number one priority. This is not to say that people don't party and have fun, but they don't do it all the time. The people that try to party all the time usually end up dropping out. Maybe this is just my university, but I'm pretty sure that most are like this. I'm pretty sure that if there ever was a realistic college movie it would be pretty boring. I know that they use the stereotypes to make the movies entertaining, but come on. It's getting a little ridiculous.

I went to college and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (3.0 GPA) from one of the better Engineering schools in the midwest. I had a full time job as a designer for a construction equipment manufacturing company lined up before I graduated and worked there for 3.5 years before moving on to a better job.

I joined a fraternity freshmen year and partied hard till I graduated anywhere from 3 to seven nights a week (weekends start on Thursday there). I skipped a lot of classes to party, or sleep in, met a lot of people, and did more stuff than most movies would show you without being rated NC-17. I believe that many things in the movies are probably real, and happened to someone involved in making the movie. They might not have all happened to one person, and they might be exxagerated, but I bet they are based on real events.

It's all about the crowd you surround yourself with. I had many friends in college that didn't get involved in the party scene, and I felt sorry for them, but I respected their decisions. I personally feel like they missed out on a lot of stuff, but if they aren't into that sort of thing it's fine with me. They can just live through that in movies, or by hearing me tell stories (I've got the scars and arrest reports to back up many of them).

Dude, you're so cool. It's like you are super smart and responsible PLUS you are a slacker partier AT THE SAME TIME! But I'm sure you knew that.

Animal House is one of the most accurate in the sense that (except for the parade) the frats are really contained to themselves. all the weird stuff happens as a result of them intentionally being weird for the pledges.

so much stuff in these college hollywood movies, venezuelan and latin american colleges (universidades) don't even have frats or any of that, we just go to class, study, take tests, make practices, blah blah blah, most parties and social hangouts occur outside of the place, like in bars and stuff like that

people make friends and stuff inside the college but that's it, anything involving extra curricular activities go out

Yeah probably boring..
Maybe you've passed an (emotional) age that you just don't desire the ridicule type of college movie, while others may still fantasize about what college could be like. But hey, maybe it could still inspire you to party harder a bit ;)
(Off campus / with campus friends)
But my answer to you topic question, hmmm try digging into the art house films / indi's, you might find some that come close.
Cheers.

There you go, I fix'd it for you.

Do yourself a favor and try harder next time.

any of you stop to think that everyones college experience is different, all depends on where you go, who you are with, and what you choose to do.

My college experience was pretty much like this. Not as outlandish with penthouse pets, but pretty close.
