Worst movie I have EVER seen

This movie had me raging it was so bad. I have laughed off bad movies before, but this one takes the cake.

The plot is barely inexistant, and what plot it does have, has so many gaping holes through it that every 2 minutes I was thinkin " they don't seriously expect me to believe this, do they?"

Seriously. Freddy Kreuger and Hellraiser seem much more realistic than this. I would believe those killers in real life than I would the killer in this movie, while these are completely surrealistic settings, and THIS movie could at least be plasive in real life, isn't there something *beep* wrong with that?

The man gets thumped with a chandalier with knifes hanging from it and manages to throw it off, without nicking himself from any of the blades hanging, ignore the multiple cuts and manages to do fine, the protagonist has multiple chances to kill him but doesnt is apparantly a mind reader knowing they would electrocute the floor, and being a small guy, is twice as strong as the ex con who works a far more labourous job?

The other characters have no depth, everybody in it was completely stupid and just arrrrrghhh

Am I supposed to be able to swallow this?

I'm not expecting some amazing plot like Oldboy or something, but I DO expect a belivable plot. Saw was believable, the killings had reasons, and it was all intelligently setup and belieavable in a surrealistic sense.

Horrible, horrible movie.

I have to agree it was a complete waste of time and cringe worthy I feel sorry for the talent involved. But gorno continues to get funded and made while there are plenty of films out there wanting to be made that have a least half a plot

You cannot keep determined people from success.

I really enjoyed it and look forward to a second!

I have just watched this film and enjoyed every minute of it. For me, letting go of reality and enjoying the film for what is is, a slasher thriller flick was easy. Looking at some of the previous comments, from individuals who deem themselves an aficionado of the genre, made entertaining reading. Come on people, if you cannot enjoy the film for what is is, simple entertainment, then you sre really missing the point.

reply

It had it's moments, but overall, and in retrospect, it was really silly crap most of the time. Complete suspension of belief. DVD? No. I'll only watch the sequal on cable.

This movie was a great little gem. I had absolutely no expectations when I saw it on the movie network and totally loved it. It is definitely NOT a horror/slasher movie by any means. It was a thriller, that's all. A famous saying from back in the day is "Don't Don't Don't believe the hype. I am pretty sure most or if not all of the haters read reviews on it or did not see what they were expecting to see......so many questions I have about this flick too...bring on the 2nd movie and explain it all please. :)

I enjoyed this movie very much.

By the way, I like Arkin's reaction in the movie and he doesn't have to behave the way you wanted him to be. Geeeeez.

The ONLY thing I don't agree with this movie is how quick the collector set up traps in the entire house in at least less than a day? That's all.

But truly an awesome movie.

Is there any chance that maybe just maybe the killer is supernatural? It's not like we are told anything about him.

Signature.

Agreed, it was an absolute shocker, and not in the good way. I wasn't expecting much but the... "acting" and the....... "character development" (HAH!) did it for me.

I actually had to turn it off halfway through, something I never find myself doing, especially since there is so little required to hold my attention when buckets of fake blood are involved.

reply

u r wrong...this is a fact.

reply

The film may not make much sense (how he sets up all those complex traps in matter of no time) But it definately keeps the viewer on the edge of their seats, stop hating this was an INTENSE movie!

reply

this is the worst review ever. only because you said this is the worst movie ever.
which i totally do not agree with. but hey you got your opinions and i have mine. but mine are alot better

I'm always suspicious of two statements in relation to a movie: "The best movie ever" or "the worst movie ever".

I didn't think this was the worst movie ever. Yes, there were pretty big gaps in logic that I will not try to defend. Cops not calling for backup within an obviously dangerous setting is one of my biggest pet peeves, BUT that being said... there are quite possibly hundreds of films where this occurs. It is so common an issue I've actually learned to think of it as white noise.

I actually thoroughly enjoyed the idea of collecting kills-- by the way, one person commented on how the character doesn't "collect" anything, but I think they missed that point, that he is literally collecting bodies and/or kills. I thought that was an interesting take on serial killing in general.

The "booby trap" environment worked for a moment, but quickly overstayed its welcome due to the already-mentioned point that he would never have had enough time to rig this house of death like he did... however, I overlooked this because by the end, I had a strong sense that the killer was supernatural somehow... I'm not sure if this was intentional-- and if the original intent was for him to be a believable serial killer, then... they kinda screwed the pooch, because I remember finishing the movie picturing the killer as some demonic collector of souls...

So... it is quite possible I like the film because of what I imagine it to be more than what it actually is...

... or it might be that they accidentally credited ME personally as the writer/director (I'm not for the record, but there was an IMDB mixup just before its release)... so am a bit biased and really wanted to like the film more than I actually did because of it :p

But I don't think it was the worst film ever... Faust was much worse, for example... Paranormal Activity 3 was pretty boring (but I'm not a big fan of any of that series, wanted to like it, gave up expecting anything by 3). Also, I think it at least deserves props as being better than Dude, Where's My Car? ...

Not saying it deserves high praise... but I can think of many films that I would easily qualify as worse!

reply

Saw was believable to you? You're an absolute moron.

reply

In fairness, the first Saw was as believeable as it needed to be for the genre. They shouldn't have made all those horrible sequels.

reply

Exactly! I couldn't sit down and enjoy this movie because every 10 minutes something STUPID and RIDICULOUS would happen! It takes you out of the movie! It makes no sense that the killer could get up from those knives, light fire to the house, and steal a car, then ram it into an ambulance and get away without ANYONE catching him!

Especially since an *beep* ARMY of police, firefighter, and EMT's show up out of NOWHERE! You're telling me none of those stupid cops saw anything and tracked down this guy???

Such a dumb, mindless film, and a waste of my time.

reply

I agree proteusphi, but it's amazing how many people will make excuses for plot holes, idiotic acts by characters (the police, the 'good thief').

One should not have to suspend complete belief when watching a movie unless it's obviously fantasy. Trying to get us to believe someone could/would rig up dozens of traps in a house & other silly aspects of this movie is futile.

In almost every case where I have seen an ambulance on a call (lights/siren on) a cop car is always with them.
