There are many very good children's movies. Some even rival movies aimed at adults. This one however, was one of the worst I've had to sit through. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since Adam Sandler was involved. Surely the actors involved were just getting a paycheck here. There is no way anybody involved thought they were making something good.
It was a cute movie, but towards the end it feels like the story was rushed. Things happening for no real reason, but I guess that's also why it's a kids movie. I liked it, it wasn't amazing, but I did like it.
I didn't stop laughing for the first 15 minutes. A brilliant opening if ever I did see one. Perfectly shot, but you're free to have an opinion, no matter how wrong it is ;)
Based on the replies this generated, I must say: Don't have an opinion. Because opinions are, by definition, incapable of being wrong...but all the responses to your critique seem to feel otherwise. i think the noise generated by your opinion leads to one conclusion -- fans of this movie are very insecure with their own tastes, and the slightest suggestion that the movie that they love may be flawed is enough to set them off. So kudos for having an opinion -- have more!
I think you may have failed to see what the majority was getting at here. It's okay to not like a movie, it's even better to have a decent reason(s) as to why it wasn't your thing. But when you're an $%&#hole about it and take the stance of "this movie was trash and everyone in the world who thinks it wasn't is wrong and I'm right" you are basically dousing yourself in gasoline and handing out matches to everyone.
The guy was kind of rude, is my point. And his defense of his position was also pretty rude. So of course people responded in kind.
You'll notice that when OP is not a jerk the discussions can be pretty civil on either side (trolls notwithstanding of course)
