There are many very good children's movies. Some even rival movies aimed at adults. This one however, was one of the worst I've had to sit through. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since Adam Sandler was involved. Surely the actors involved were just getting a paycheck here. There is no way anybody involved thought they were making something good.
I'm 53 years old. I don't have kids or grandkids. I just watched this on Video on Demand and I liked it. I thought it was very entertaining. I don't think it will ever become a timeless classic, but so what? It's a very enjoyable, escapist kids movie that adults can like as well. Every movie doesn't have to be deeply profound and serious to be good. It's fun, and that's what most people, especially kids, like. So there.
Today i was in the mood to watch animated movies which i usually never go to the theater to watch since i don't like wasting my money on them the last one i watched was Tangled. I decided to watch it online and man was the Jonathan character annoying it was like "It's his place if he wants to kick you out he can" and the daughter was a bit of a brat.
Save that kind of talk for something like Alvin & The Chipmunks or Baby Geniuses 1 or 2, this movie was fine and very funny, and not too mention fantastically animated.
The movie started slow and boring; did not manage to increase the pace and live up to the rating of 7+ on IMDB. However, I find the music very lively! :)
