I rented this film a couple of days ago. I gave this film a 9. I think it's one of Kevin Bacon's best roles. Yes, the film in a way has elements that makes it related to 1974's Death Wish. I guess that's why it received a low rating. I don't know. John Goodman sure was creepy! I didn't think he could pull that role off, but he did a fantastic job. IMDB's ratings are messed up. I think this film sure be no less than an 8 for a rating. What do you all think about the rating?

This movie is garbage in every aspect. This 6.8 rating is laughable and one more prove that ratings on this site means nothing.

Agreed. I don't know what people found so entertaining about this turd, but I was rolling my eyes at every horrible scene, and this film had plenty. It was cliche after cliche.

shareI see that all the time in here arkay.Some movies are a 8 or 9 to some & the same movie is a 5 or 6 to others.Even a great movie like Inception, which is somewhere in the top 20 gets slammed by lot's of people every day.Why do so many insist we should all have the same opinions of any movie or work of art.That would make for a very boring society-& dangerous.

I agree, OP. The haters just hate the fact that it's a revenge flick. It's an outstanding film. The realistic tone and the brutal violence makes this one of the best revenge flicks I have ever seen.

But the classic Disney films were utter trash though? They took existing takes, remade them in a way that makes little sense and then brainwashed a generation into thinking its a good movie.

There was some good scenes here and there, yes, but potentially powerful ones like Luke picking up his brother's picture and Nick breaking down in the shower were totally ruined by the director's choice to turn this into a Lifetime's videoclip. The message... if there even was one... was poor, cliché and messy as hell. Good for nothing officers blaming the father's victim instead of trying to hunt down the oh so poor and misunderstood gang who keep on merrily slashing everyone who crossed their path? Billy gloating about turning Nick into "one of them"??? PLEASE. It's a five for me.
