6.8?

I rented this film a couple of days ago. I gave this film a 9. I think it's one of Kevin Bacon's best roles. Yes, the film in a way has elements that makes it related to 1974's Death Wish. I guess that's why it received a low rating. I don't know. John Goodman sure was creepy! I didn't think he could pull that role off, but he did a fantastic job. IMDB's ratings are messed up. I think this film sure be no less than an 8 for a rating. What do you all think about the rating?

I give it a 0, a missed opportunity.

Enjoy the actors graveyard that is TV Mr Bacon.

I would give this movie a 4. It was entertaining to an extent but the plot was mindlessly stupid and so unbelievably ridiculous that I was sure to come on here and it would be torn to shreds.
I watched the movie Margaret last night and it has a lower rating than this piece of trash.
Oh, well, if a Batman movie is considered as one of the greatest movies ever made on IMDB then why am I surprised that this movie has a 6.8 rating?

I didn't think the movie was bad because of the genre btw. Death Wish was great but this movie didn't even come close to that movie.

Yes, criminally underrated - like most great films are.

I gave it a 6 because its formulaic, this type of movie has been done since the 1940s, all the same elements, revenge killing, punk kids running wild. Hollywood finds a certain movie, it does reasonably well at the box office and almost instantly there's a 2nd movie so similar that you want to stick her head in a big bowl of buttered popcorn and scream, "been there, done that".
And, when there not busy doin' ripoffs they're making sequels which is just basically the Original Movie, but a few aspects are changed, like adding a new bad guy. But sometimes they make the sequel with a new lead star, and that gets as silly as when Dick York was replaced on Bewitched, but that was out of necessity, he passed away after Season 5. OK, that was a TV Show not a movie but you get my point.
Sometimes they fool ya as in the Terminator Sequel where you think the bad guy came back but now he's the good guy. That was cool, but it's just basically the same movie, like all of the Bourne movies which I've only managed to sit through about 10 minutes of one of them, it was the one with Run Lola Run innit, but then she died real fast and I changed the channel.

I be curious as to what (if any) movies you actually like.

Id give this film about an 8, and maybe more actually.
Most fans on here dont seem to care whether anybody likes the film or not, but as a fan I cant understand the hating. I think its a really good role for Kev Bacon.

6.5 is fair -
There is a reason why most action flicks don't get high scores - and why most of the superhero movies are extremely overrated. They don't have a whole lot of an emotional impact.

Having said that - this film is better than most of the superhero crap we are exposed to every year these days.

I found this movie on accident some years ago, and I was floored-- I started it over from the beginning right when it was finished. I've watched it countless times since then.
The acting was great, of course, but on top of that, what really got me was the cinematography and soundtrack.
I'm not a movie reviewer, so I don't have all the big fancy words for this and that, but this movie definitely stuck with me, that's for sure.

And those cars!!

I really like this movie a lot. It is a very specific formula, and if you want to watch some nearly identical movies, you can do The Brave One or Harry Brown. Just depends whether you're in a mood for Bacon, Michael Caine, or Jodie Foster. I don't know if I'd rank it a 9, but I do like this formula and don't mind a seeing this story play out in slightly different ways. Revenge movies are solid entertainment.
