I didn't like Margot Kidder's look as Lois, but I think it's due to the time period. She may have looked really gorgeous to 1980's audiences.

As someone who grew up during the 1980s, I can safely say that no one I knew of thought Kidder was a knockout, though we all loved her for the great performance she gave as Lois.
Amy Adams is three years younger than me, so she's in my age group, and I think she's just gorgeous--I realize I am in the minority here, but I think she is beautiful.
However, the performance is only lacking in that her character is underwritten, which is a shame. There are a few throwaway lines about how tough she's supposed to be, and she has that one okay scene in Perry White's office, but I wiah that Adams' Lois had been better written. Despite all of this, I have grown to like her as Lois.

That was the major problem I had with this very good film. I didnt feel Amys Louis at all. She seemed WAY too nice. Also shes considerably older than Henry Cavil and looks it.

shareNo way Amy Adams was the most unattractive Lois Lane. Amy Adams is quite a beautiful woman. Perhaps she was unconventionally cast as Lois Lane, but she is not unattractive. Physically at least.
I'd also say that her look is not like that of the traditional Lois Lane but more like the traditional comic version of Lana Lang, who most assuredly is not Eurasian ( though Kristin Kreuk is hot, or course). So that's why Amy Adams may be an odd choice for Lois Lane. She acts a bit like the assertive, confident and intrepid Lois Lane we know from the comics, but looks like redheaded Lana Lang (like Annette O'Toole did in Superman III). Maybe that was intentional on the part of the producers. Combine both women in Superman's life into one.
Now I still consider women like Margot Kidder (who isn't really beautiful but has appeal) and Erika Durance and Teri Hatcher as better Lois Lanes, but after Batman vs Superman, I've warmed up to Amy Adams too.
She isn't the best looking actress I have ever seen, in fact I think she is really plain in the face (but not ugly). However I find her sexy as heck and sometimes sexy > looks. I have seen a lot of pretty woman who weren't sexy and equally a lot of sexy woman who weren't perfectly pretty. I find Amy Adams very sexy which is attractive.
