my 2 cents:

boring, uninspired, absolutly NOTHING new here. it's impossible to spoil the film because we've seen it ALL so many many times, even if you are not such a horror/slasher/torture-movie buff like me; its' annoying.
not even worth the bandwith ;)

if you liked Re-animator... avoid it
if you liked Bad Taste... avoid it
if you liked Dr. Giggles... avoid it
if you liked Brain Damage... avoid it
if you liked 28 Days later... it's not even the same genre

(believe me... you actually DO have better things to do)

Agreed. The blood & gore were the only "good" parts. The only movies I watch where I skip the plot and watch the juicy stuff is porn. Maybe this is like porn for gore fans... Gorn?

Sure.. 28 Days Later doesn't owe George Romero (an AMERICAN) anything, does it? You want to be the pot or the kettle, mate?

Egads, this was terrible. I have actually watched it three times--not because I'm just a glutton for punishment, but because I usually love good bad horror movies and was hoping maybe it was my mood or I was missing something but no, this is just bad. The special effects (or lack thereof), the annoying characters and the stupidity of their actions, and the vultures...oh dear, the vultures. Look, I adore "Re-Animator," "Teeth" and "Feast" (but just the original--the follow-ups were horrid). One of the reasons I love them is because they are cheap horror flicks, but they have a sense of humor about themselves. It feels as though this film was going for the same thing but missed the mark by a thousand yards.

Signatures annoy me.

Well that takes all credibility from your "opinion".

The rage is a just-like-american stupid horror movie and has no ,own, plot!

It's suppose to be over the top gorefest. No other horror movie didn't have the exact same plot of some other horror movie? No? Never?

Get ur *beep* own story and line!!

Is it "story" or "line" or "storyline"?

If it was decent, but derivative of 28 Days, maybe the comparison would be useful in condemning the movie.

It's apples and oranges. Two different type of movies. The only common thing they have is "rage virus". "28 Days Later" was suppose to be serious horror movie of "what could happen for real". It plays very straight with no sense of irony or even humor. It wants to sell itself as "real".

"The Rage" on the other hand was all over the place, lot of in-jokes, dumb lines, even worse acting and it never for once wanted to sell itself as "realistic". It's just your good old "mad scientist" movie, only gored up version for new audiences.

This movie succeeds in being completely moronic all on its own, however.

Yeah, and it's part of it charm. If it took itself way too seriously, it would just be borefest.

It's got a horrible script, as if the actors could have done anything with a decent script anyway.

Well beside Andrew Divoff who always kinda has some dignity even in movies like this, Reggie Bannister was obviously camping. Misty looked like she didn't give a huge fu*k about this, she was completely aware in what type of a movie she is. She can be descent, which was proven by her appearance in that Masters of Horror episode. I mean, this movie clearly wasn't about good acting and some huge deep performances, it was about gore and over the top violence. It really doesn't need good acting. I think Robert Kurtzman was aware of this as he's not a stranger to horror genre.

It has alot of gore, but half of that is incredibly bad looking CGI gore. And those birds and explosions, good grief. Maybe good entertainment for lowest common denominator types, but that's about it.

That was the whole point of the movie. It was completely aware of what it wants to be. It was meant to be dumb movie with lot of gore and OTT violence and it succeeded in that. Sure, it had some quite dumb scenes (and quite bad acting, which lot of times seemed to be intentional btw), but overall it was quite entertaining due to it being so ludacris.

The only thing I really hated about this movie was some CGI use which has no place in gore movies. Every other problem (and movie has a lot of them!) is fine, because I am perfectly aware of what movie I was watching. If I wanted some "intellectual" horror movie with some "deep meaning", I certainly wouldn't pick one with title "The Rage" starring Misty Mundae as lead. ;)
