List of shows Fox has cancelled they shouldn't have

Action - Comedy starring Jay Mohr as an amoral movie producer. I thought it was hilarious and have never completely forgiven FOX for cancelling it

Futurama- Never gave the show the chance it deserved. Show *still* does well in reruns on Adult Swim.

Arrested Development - Show with edgy humor that hadn't run it's course.

Family Guy - At least they had the good sense to bring it back

American Dad (if it is indeed gone) - One call they got right. That show blows.

What else?

Greg the Bunny (STill catch reruns on "Razer" (I think its exclusively canadian)

Futurama

Andy Richter Controls the Universe

Oliver Beene (Last season episodes took a dip in quality, but still canned before its time)

Wanda at Large (I don't care, i liked it)

P.S. Though Arrested Development still had a good 3 or 4 seasons before it jumped the shark, it had very poor ratings (Damn Fox, they should have left it on Mondays), and from what i've heard from the AD boards, the creators of the show didn't want to bring it over to Showcase because it took a lot of time to make an episode and that they wanted to move on.

If you are stuck in 7th grade and like stupid shows:

Get a Life (a classic of classic stupid shows)

Greg the Bunny (a clever stupid show, it was literally a puppet show which is an undersung genre)

The PJs (so offensive that the Nielsen families said they watched something else so it got canceled)

The Loop (usually shows with awesome chicks aren't funny, this one had amazing chicks, was hysterical, and had a theme song that was probably the greatest piece of music ever recorded, as funny and inappropriate as the show itself)

Andy Richter Controls the Universe (pretty funny, great characters, and thinking that he left a network show for this made it twice as funny)

Free Ride (extra funny for me because it was exactly like the life of a guy I know)

Life On a Stick (I think they canceled it during he first episode because it had the stupidity of all the above condensed into one half hour, the ultimate short run show)

Someone said on another post that they should have a channel of all the TV shows canceled by Fox. That would be great. I'd watch, but probably not Fox anymore.

By far the worst mistake they made was cancelling Futurama. Granted the show didn't seem to be that good when it first started out, but it got pretty darn good. Way better than the Simpsons.

FIREFLY!!!!!!!!

What i love is the people who say Arrested Development failed because there was no laugh track and comedies need a laugh track so people know what is funny.

Newsflash, If you need a laugh track on a comedy so you know what is funny, the comedy is not doing its job.

reply

How old are you ppl?

Im a teenager... i have no idea about a lot of the shows you are talking about......

What the Hell is: Firefly???
Action?
Andy Richter Controls the Universe???
Get a Life???
The Critic???
The Tick???

you know what else you forgot?
Its always sunny in Philadelphia.. i think i didnt read all the posts..

Best shows on fox: The Winner, simpsons, FG, AD, Til' Death, and Drive( hopefully.. sounds cool)

reply

To Begin:
It's Always Sunny... was an FX show, not Fox.
Drive....won't last a week.
The Critic is a cartoon
The Tick, a cartoon.
4 of those shows happened within the last 10 years. And hey, I'm a teenager too!

The Shows on Fox I loved but were cancelled
1. FIREFLY
2. Futurama
3. Undeclared
4. Arrested Development
5. Keen Eddie, I really liked it
6. (tho nobody will agree) John Doe
7. Tru Calling

reply

I disagree, Arrested sucked. It was too overacted and too many wish-i-could-roll-my-eyes-now-you-are-so-stupid scenes, not my taste.

Futurama and Family Guy was/is great, I'd watch either of those over the Simpsons anyday.

reply

AD and FF. Fox sucks.

reply

Keen Eddie, didn't get a fair chance

reply

The OC

Reunion

North Shore

Futurama is coming back next year on comedy central.

It's bad enough that Fox cancelled Futurama and Arrested Development.

What's unforgivable is what they did to Firefly. Not only did they cancel it, but they never gave it a chance to begin with. They played the episodes completely out of the order (the first episode was actually aired last, and three episodes were never aired) and they put them in horrible time slots.

American Dad is still on, and it's actually quite funny.

Nobody agrees, but Life on a Stick.

reply

Firefly - Seriously, can't FOX see people want this back? Would it kill them to say "We got it wrong, come on Joss, wow us"? Heck this is the the little show that could, it became a movie... surely after the success of the movie someone at fox had to sit up and notice right?

Futurama - Thankyou Comedy Central for bringing this back, handle it with care the fans have been hurt before. Though again it stuns me it was even cancelled, it's not like it didn't have good fans and it wasn't like anyone was subtle about wanting it back.

Kitchen Confidential - Was given 4 episodes to build an audience... 4... Nothing it a hit after 4 episodes, and nothing can be a hit when they keep messing with the schedule, they had a great Sitcom that didn't need a laugh track and they blew it.

Oh and sidenote about MWC lovers, while it can't be said it was canceled before it's time (11 Seasons, I can live with that) it was canceled, and done sneakily. In fact Ed O'neil was told about it on holiday from someone who read it in the news and one of Christina Applegates friends told her so it wasn't exactly the nicest of cancellations

I liked it, I had to get a copy in the very not good way by scouring online like mad because Fox won't even release a DVD but what I saw I liked
