Rebecca vs. Alice
Am I the only one who thinks that Rebecca is far prettier than Alice? Yes, Alice is the blonde bombshell...I get it. But there's absolutely no mystery to her. I prefer unconventional beauty any day. What do you think?

shareNo, not the only one. I saw she and James in an interview and Rebecca had a bit more makeup on than in the movie and I think she is quite pretty! I also think the two of them have a better chemistry all around than James and Alice do.
shareI'm glad you raised the issue (a year ago). Having just seen the movie, what hit me as I was watching it was how great the casting was. If the U.S. made their version of the movie, it would've put some 'glam' gal in Rebecca's role. Rebecca Hall, slightly taller than James McAvoy, hit the mark. Alice represented the adolescent fantasy of most boys. IMHO.
shareIn the long run I would pick Rebecca but Alice is much hotter
shareThere is nothing to Alice. She's far to up herself, isn't interesting and really isn't very pretty either. As others have said, she's a 'one nighter' at best - and then only after a few drinks. Rebecca was portrayed as attractive in every way. Beautiful, intelligent, humorous, interesting and not only interested in herself. In terms of this thread, she wins hands down.
It's a tender love song, very beautiful. {Whats it called?} Lick my love pump.
Alice. No comparison at all. Rebecca could only ever be a friend. Alice is love.
share Rebecca was more masculine, almost to the point of being frigid. She admitted to periods of romantic interest, but seemed embarrassed by them. Alice was much more listful, pretty with true passion.
Alice Harbinson = fantasy girlfriend
Rebecca Epstein = ideal girlfriend
...or is that just too simplified?
6? Do me a lemon! That's a poor IQ for a glass of water!
Rebecca was everything I find attractive in girls. If I could find a girl like her, who looked like her, my life would be complete. :P
Girls like Alice, however, are a dime a dozen. Pretty, yes, but unattractive in most other facets. And Rebecca was prettier, which means that she wins easily.
I must admit, this was a rare film where I honestly wasn't sure which girl he'd end up with, which made the ending far more satisfying.
Ah-is "true passion" the word they use for "horny" nowadays?
All that glitters ain't gold-it's a well known fact.

Rebecca every time... Alice was certainly better than your average bimbo. But, Rebecca was a fab character who deserved a bit more screen-time than she got.
shareRebecca 100%...she's much more considerate, intellectual, sincere and (personally, I'd say) attractive. She has interests beyond the norm, and a sense of wit etc. Pretty much my perfect girl (except I already have a girlfriend :D and she's even better than Rebecca is).
shareRebecca does it for me.
Alice is the sort of fantasy, trophy girlfriend that most men would lust after - Viagra on legs. But it's all calculated act, right down to the jumper hanging off one shoulder and the short skirt showing off her legs and giving a hint of stocking top.
But Rebecca is the soulmate I could spend the rest of my life with: she's funny, she's caring and she's got a proper infectious smile, not a toothy fake smile like Alice. OK, so her perpetual campaigning about "issues" is a bit of a turn-off for me, but it's something she'll grow out of.
Alice is a one-trick pony: when you've got tired of shagging her morning, noon, and night (yes, it would happen!), what else is there to her?
Look at Alice's reaction at the cottage when she's blowing dope smoke in Brian's mouth and he becomes so stoned that he passes out. Alice gets annoyed and leaves in a huff. Rebecca would have giggled (laughing at the absurdity and unpredictability of life, not laughing at Brian), cuddled up to him and - well, who knows where that may have led...
I first saw Rebecca Hall in "Joe's Palace" http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0899109/ where she had a fairly minor part as a shop assistant that Joe meets as he does the shopping, but it was clear that she was a little bit different and not just run-of-the-mill. I wanted to see more of her in the play, just as I did with her releatively few appearances in Starter for 10. I hadn't realised until I looked on IMDB that she'd also played the part of Sophy in "The Camomile Lawn" http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0103381/ at the age of ten, though now I think about it, the resemblence is there if you look for it.
Has anyone else noticed how similar Alice Eve is to Joanna Lumley in her younger days?
Rebecca by a country mile......lovely lips
shareAlice is pretty until you get close up and have to potentially kiss her teeth, also she was empty and promiscuous. Rebecca was attraactive and interesting but might have needed a good wash.
