Plot holes, mistakes, and general stupidities!!! (a list for fun)

I *LOVE* this movie, but sometimes it's fun to just look through our favorites and find what's wrong with them (like in Harry Potter, one of my favorite book series EVER: why can't he see the thestrels in his first four years at Hogwarts? Why did Harry's father come out of Voldy's wand before his mother in Prior Incantatem? But I digress ;-)

This board really took off over on Andromeda Strain, so I thought we should try it here!

This is a list of plot holes, mistakes, and general stupidities we found as we watched (and rewatched) the movie. No criticizing, getting angry, or correcting the list please: this is all for fun!

I'll start:

1) During the car chase in London, Riley had his MacBook, which has a webcam in it, so why bother running the red light? Why not just take a picture of the plank with his webcam?

2) How does finding the city of gold prove innocence? He still could have been in league with the KGC!

3) with the Lincoln assassination scene: In reality, nobody heard the gun go off. People were laughing too loudly (and Booth knew to shoot him then because he was an actor and was familiar with the play).

Error: The gold city was inside Mount Rushmore, which is of course impossible since it's already the secret headquarters for Team America World Police.

F Yeah!

It was the base for team america until Michael Moore blew it up . . . Duuuhh. The Mayans used they time portal to move their old stuff there.

Most everything has been mentioned (though the poster complaining about the lack of authentic toilets at Buckingham is seriously pushing it), the general stupidity that jumps out at the very end is the way the POTUS gave Riley his car back. A man with security as much a concern as it'd be for him couldn't possibly have a (iirc) Ferrari left parked and open on a public street with the keys left in an envelope under the wipers for anyone to grab.

If Riley had deviated from his usual plan and failed to see it waiting for him, he may never have known it was returned as a gift until the Prez asked him about how it was running at a function years later.

Easy fix would've been to show a passing shot of a secret service detail reporting the package has been delivered. It might've been as distracting as the risk of such a unlikely plan, but at least it'd've made sense... but why start then, eh?

Anyone know the name of the girl at the end that asks for Riley's autograph? She's just too cute to not have done anything since then.

Very old post, but I've just seen it.

I can't answer the second one, but the first is clear. The death that Harry experiences that allows him to see the Thestrals is Cedric Diggory's. Now, we may wonder why he didn't see Threstrals when they left after his 4th year, but either it takes time to develop the ability or because of the "publicity" they got Harry back to the train home by a different route.
