Totally agree! The Changeling is awesome. I first saw it when I was a kid and it scared the hell out of me. Had me sleeping with the light on for ages LOL Couldn't remember the name until it was on the telly years later. It has to be one of the best ghost movies ever. Think I'll go watch it again, thanks for reminding me!
shareThat's why I bought this film, because other Changeling fans recommended it so highly.
While I didn't find it quite as creepy as TC, it's a fine film with a real mind**** story line, and that I can appreciate.

I prefer my scary movies to have large amounts of cutlery. Sporks especially.
shareI agree they are very similar and both of them depict amazing seances, though Geraldine Chaplin in The Orphanage was amazing.
You'll like these, you'll really dig them and all that pimply hyperboleshare
"The Changeling" (not to be confused with "Changeling") is a wonderful, atmospheric, haunting tale. Honestly, I think it's much better than this film, even though I liked this.
shareThe Changeling + Ring = The Orphanage...greatist math problem ever! =)
There is no escape
I am just now getting ready to watch The Orphanage and now I am really excited because of the comparison to The Changeling. I saw The Changeling when I was a kid and it scared the holy daylights out of me.
shareI watched "The Changeling" first, several months ago, and liked it very much, even though I'm not a George C. Scott fan. Last night, I watched "The Orphanage" for the first time and really enjoyed it as well. I agree that both are somewhat similar and equally good. I'd also suggest "The Innocents" (excellent movie and a terrific performance by Deborah Kerr) and "Wicked Little Things" (which is not on the same level as the other three, but still enjoyable).
