Does anyone know of any?

^So many supernatural films used as suggestions (The Others, Devil's Backbone, etc)...This film wasn't that much of a supernatural horror to begin with.

If you want a story where the main character is searching for a missing person (a loved one especially, like their child) then look no further than Flightplan, The Forgotten and Clint Eastwood's Changeling.

Clint Eastwood's one had a pretty much similar intensity where I was sitting down gritting my teeth in anxiety and distress.

Life is like a beautiful melody, only the lyrics are messed up.

There are many movies similar to this. Some that come straight to me: Pan's Labyrinth, Mama and Hansel and Gretel (Korean).

'The Others' was very close, in fact this movie is near to be called a sequel to it.

The Conjuring.
The Woman in Black
The Others
Babadook.

Session 9. It has an equally disturbing feeling to it. I enjoyed the orphanage, but session 9 kills it. Don't read anything about it aside from a synopsis. Just watch it!

OP I recommend the 'Babadook' and ' Before I Wake' - movies that are about mothers dealing with grief. They're absolutely amazing.

The poster who said this movie is similar in style to “The Others” hit the nail on the head. Great flick.
