I didn't understand why Roy was suicidal.

Does anybody know why? I know he attempted a foolish stunt to impress a girl or something, surely losing this random girl after the failed stunt isn't his reason for being suicidal because that's a pretty weak reason to kill yourself.

Was it because he didn't want to live a life of a paralyzed victim?

becoming paralyzed while you make a living of being in perfectly physical shape and the love of your life running away ith someone else...people have killed themselves for much lesser then that, believe me
