What the hell is Tobey Maguire doing in this?

He is terrible and can't pull off a historical role. ...and he's what, a "volatile" 110 pound runt?

Totally crap casting.

tobey maguire should not have been in this, nor should he be in any movie. period.

I think he was good at being a real douche. He annoyed me so that's good I guess.

He is just awful. I dont like him in every movie he is in.

He pulled off being an oily little jerk very well, which was kind of how the character was written, so... It may have been better had the part been tailored for an actor who was more physically imposing, though.

Agreed, everytime I watched a scene with him it was pure agony. There are times when I'll defend an actor's role in w/e movie after people claim they were miscast but this was uhh...not one of those times.

I liked him in this. He came across as an apple-eating American boy from the heartland but he was a heartless wheeler-dealer, pimping his girlfriend. A nasty piece of work.

He is the worst part about the movie. Would have been so much better without his character.

yes, I didn't buy him as a sex fiend or someone who would punch a woman in the gut. Blanchett could have decked him.
