The cat killing on Jenifer

I've had cats all my life so you could say that I have affection for cats, and that part on Jenifer really bothered me. Why couldn't she just mutilate a dog?

reply

Cats taste better, and they don't make as much noise when you kill them.

reply

That's disturbing

reply

F YOU! Dogs are way nicer than cats!

I've never been closer to vomiting watching a movie than in that scene.

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room."-Dr. Strangelove

reply

you may not want to check out Argentos excellant half of the Two Evil Eyes film. Its a take on Poes The Black Cat tale,,and its quite disturbing...with Harvey Keitel killing a few cats for the sake of his photographic art.

reply

I have two cats myself, but find it weird that people are more disturbed by that scene than with the one of the girl flayed out in the basement. Her face was perfect but she was totally cannibalized...

reply

AMAZING MOVIE!!!...I love Argento...

+ We're all worms, but I do believe I'm a glowworm.+

reply

Probably cause Argento isn't a cat lady like you?

reply

Crazy Cat Lady and proud of it!

Next time you see me, it won't be me

reply

And then upset the dog lovers?

C'mon... it is a horror movie, not a guide to which is the best animal.

Besides, everyone knows it is cows. Cows rule!

reply

Cats are easier to kill, I guess. Smaller, less apt to make a fuss.

Dogs fight hard; I've been in scraps with both, as I've kept them as pets, and I've always had to let the dog get me. Cats tend to run away if the attacker is too big, or too aggressive, but dogs will mostly fight back and try to run them down.

Dogs will run down their prey, they'll literally run a deer into the ground, whereas cats will either rip open the throat or suffocate with a bite.

I'm a dog lover, so I'm down for Dogs being just Hard-Core, but I like cats too.

Eh.

reply

I have always found a pissed-off cat to be much harder to handle than an aggressive dog. Part of it is flexibility; dogs can't contort the way cats can. And a dog's claws aren't as damaging as a cat's. With dogs it is usually just the teeth. Most domesticated dogs have had the killer instinct bred out and they are dependent on us for food, but cats never lose it and even well-fed cats will still hunt and kill.

But, handling aggressive dogs is something I have always been very good at. Cats, not so much.

The wild, cruel animal is not behind the bars of a cage. He is in front of it.

A note of advice: Never watch Argento's Inferno.

I'm just mad everyone is rooting for the best kill... How about the b!tch not kill anything and more importantly, anyONE?

reply

This is what's wrong with the world. You PC tree-huggers are more worried about a scene in a MOVIE where a CAT gets killed that a scene in a MOVIE where a HUMAN GIRL gets killed.

WTF????

He ain't no god! It's like he being judged by God!-Kirk Lazarus in Tropic Thunder

reply

Amen.

reply

I'll drink to that. I was more disturbed at Jenifer standing behind the little girl then licking her lips before she attacked. Im a pet lover but I was less bothered by her butchering a cat. Which the only attack we ever actually see is of the shopkeeper's son in the woods.

reply

Are you an animal activist?

And your point is?

Next time you see me, it won't be me

WTF????"

So we can't be more upset by a cat dying in a MOVIE than a child? You sound kinda PC there yourself. Lay off the kid worship ;-)

Well, when you think about it...would you still bang her after seeing her eat your cat and a human girl?

she just had an unbelievable rack.

reply

Uumm, so the cat killing bothered you, but the eating of the child was ok?

So far, Jenifer is one of my favorite episodes, but I think the best one was Imprint.

reply

Well I also wasn't able to watch this scene even I knew it wasn't a real cat - it's just because I don't like hurting animals in movie (in real life too). So I was happier whe Jenifer eat the girl next door.

reply

That may be a little to far. I love animals, a lot but would ill one bfore I could kill a kid.

omg we are all gonna die!
