Funniest moment ever?

When Gervais is shirking from the actor during the play as he tries to kiss him and Ian Mkellan is pushing his head back. Does anyone else think that this is the funniest comedy moment ever? Its like Monty Python, Fawlty Towers and Benny Hill all rolled into one with an extra helping of Wacky Races and a bit of Wallace and Grommit mixed in to boot. Its just brilliant visual humour.

Although, it only just beats the moment when Darren is trying to flush to no avail and then he resorts to using a kitchen utensil to mash it. Amazing.

Idea.

Imagine a sitcom centred around the exploits of Darren Lamb dating. Wouldn't that also be hilarious.

The water bottle scene. It was even funnier because moments earlier Andy's shrugging off the fact that he might be gay for taking that role in a play.

Not sure if someone else has already mentioned this, but when Robert Lindsay tells the kid "OH *beep* OFF!" in that scene, just because the kid 'spoils' Lindsay's anecdote by not knowing who Alan Bleasdale is!

I love that scene too, and when the kid falls asleep because of the morphine during Lindsay's comedy turn, then when he wakes up and said he wasn't really enjoying it anyway, Lindsay retorts: "RUDE!" (it's the way he says it!)

Patrick Stewart's entire episode, no doubt. Kate Winslet comes a very close second.

not sure of the episode, but the bit where Andy's making a point about maintaining his dignity, using Barry as an example, and then he pats him on the back and all the candy falls out of him onto the ground.

"Come on love, you're like a dead horse, put a bit of minge round it!"
"ok"
hilarious!
Can't believe no one has mentioned it before!

Yeah, the water bottle one is the funniest.

But the scene where Andy makes a passionate speech on Barry's behalf, and he slaps him on the back, and all of the candy falls out of Barry's shirt... that comes damn close to the water bottle.

Keith Chegwin's appearance on When the Whistle Blows. Or Ronnie Corbett caught doing lines in the toilet. Brilliant stuff!

Aye, I loved that bit with Ronnie Corbett! Still got it! Amazed Ronnie was up for it, but always loved his comedy from childhood.

It's not "sci-fi", it's SF!

For me it has to be the 'Mustang Sally' scene. Barry is such an amazing character, I piss myself laughing everytime he is on screen, plays it perfectly. "You've trod on me foot again Pat!". You probably have to have watched Eastenders back then to really get it, hilarious stuff. "We're just having a little sing song..."
