shareIt was fairly cool when Bourne Supremacy did it, but with every rewatch the shaky cam becomes more of a distraction than ever. To me. In Ultimatum, although I will say they outdid themselves with the shaky cam, I do think the cheap-ish effect pays off in some scenes (jumping and breaking through the window). Still a nice entry in the series but damn.
Anyways, if shaky cam gets a bad rap, then the Bourne sequels are partly to blame.Lol
What I keep thinking is: "Jaws" was shot on the water, handheld. And, it's very smooth. So, the camera operators here are deliberately wiggling the camera around continually. They are perfectly capable of getting a steady image shooting handheld. Personally, I would have shot with a Steadicam and loosened it up so it was imperfect and had some wiggle to it.
