Katie Holmes looks like she's almost 50 in this.

its like she skipped her 30's.

Well, she's 35 and that means she's getting close to 40 and since women tend to age like *beep* it's pretty much the same thing as 'almost 50'.

35 is not close to 40, 38 and 39 is. Not all women age like *beep* Just shut-up. Some men do as well.

Was thinking the same thing.

Both her and Streep looked awful.

Why are all wonen supposed to be eternally young and men are are never criticized as they do age ungracefully (look at Harrison)? I have never understood this. Could someone please explain?

Is it because our pedestals may collapse under the increased weight as our bodies mature and our faces droop?

reply

Unfortunately, her face is showing years of extreme unhappiness. I never see her smile anymore. Katie is not aging well. I can only image what the whole Tom Cruise ordeal was like for her. When you marry someone in a demonic cult, you will not get out of that unscarred. Thank God, she got away with her life.

reply

Well, it IS a society without love, joy or color. No one smiles and no one wears obvious makeup. It can't be easy to look your hottest under those circumstances.

They probably wanted her to look as old as possible, since she's only ten years older than the actor playing her son.

some people just have that soft skin that ages quickly or they lose that baby fat and their face gets that square shape and loses definition, I don't know, melanie griffith has that skin, maggie gyllenhaal seems to have it too (my theory), I'm convinced though that our faces really aren't our true faces until we reach our mid 40's or so, our young faces are just there to attract a mate early on, I mean how long do we look like we did when we were at our peak in our late teens-early twenties? for the rest of our lives we look more like us in our 40's...unless we die young then we're forever young

The greyscale in this did her no favors, and has she always been such a blah, wooden actress? I was not impressed.
