What other movies are there that use constrast between blackwhite and color to drive the story? The Giver is one. Pleasantville another. Both are excellent movies.

The Secret Garden, 1949, I have watched over and over again, you won't be disappointed.

The Blue Bird, 1940, crappy movie, trying to be The Wizard of Oz.
