What other movies are there that use constrast between blackwhite and color to drive the story? The Giver is one. Pleasantville another. Both are excellent movies.

Some films switch between color and non color to show a difference in time... Like Memento

The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945). The whole movie is in black and white but the infamous picture is seen a couple times in color.

Some parts of Death Proof(2007).Directed by Tarantino.There were small parts used black and white.
