Who else lost respect for Sarah?

Don't get me wrong, I love the movie. It's truly one of my favorite horror features. Nonetheless, I lost a great amount of sympathy for Sarah when she stabbed Juno in the leg and fled. I know Juno slept with her husband, but she didn't deserve that. When you're trapped in a cave infested with man-eating monsters, it's better to work together and find a way out. Does anybody else agree with me? 

I apparently missed the sleeping with husband part. I wondered why in the world she stabbed her.

She stabbed her because Beth basically lied when she said that Juno stabbed her (even though it was an accident and Beth was *beep* stupid for sneaking up on Juno when she was in a frenzy killing the crawlers), and then on her dying breathe tells Sarah about the affair. She made it out like Juno stabbed her deliberately and left her for dead. But not only was it an accident, but Juno thought she was dead before she left.

But yes, I *beep* hated Sarah after that. While Juno sleeping with Sarah's husband was wrong, she was truly remorseful for what she did, and was trying to make it up to Sarah however she could, even wanting to name the cave after her. And Beth was an accident, but the movie tried to make Sarah's motives seem justified. it WASN'T.

Even in the sequel, Sarah says that the crawlers were coming and she stabbed Juno so she could get away. That is pure bullsh*t. After she and Juno killed all the crawlers in the area, when she and Juno could have left, Sarah cut her off, and stared her down for like a full 30 seconds before showing her the bracelet. Then they stare at each other longer, then there's a roar from far off in the distance, then Sarah stabbed her. There was more than enough time for them to get away, even remain undetected from the crawlers. Not only that, it was clear that Sarah was going to kill her even before other crawlers announced that they were coming. It was nothing more than cold-blooded murder on Sarah's part, and I'm glad the b*tch died in the sequel.

I agree with OP 100%. Stabbing Juno for cheating with the husband who's already DEAD? WOW. Vindictive b!tch can't stab the dead but has to murder a friend, as if murdering is a lesser sin than adultery. CRAZY!

It seems everyone is forgetting two things:

Juno left Beth to die.

Juno is also the reason they were in this mess, telling them that they cave they went to is a tourist trap and thus a well-known and trusted cave. Not only that, but she tricked them and deliberately left the map behind.

In my eyes, besides the whole cheating behind her friend's back, I honestly didn't feel that Sarah was wrong in leaving Juno behind. It's basically avenging her friends who lost their lives to the fact that Juno was a selfish and bad person in life and dragged her friends into a situation that wound up killing them.

Me and many others feel that these 2 reasons are why Sarah really stabbed Juno and not so much only the cheating thing.

Yes I did, she is even worse than Juno, Beth's death was more BETH's fault than it was Juno's. Sarah is just a straight up murderer with the intent to kill/sacrifice Juno for her own safety and getting revenge for a situation that Sarah really had very little information about... it was a good scene though.

I was partly shocked, but given her horrible ordeal, and all the "black balls" coming up for Juno, it wasn't unexpected. Esp. the way the scene kind of dragged on with them staring each other down. I thought Sarah would "axe" Juno in the head, not the knee. That was basically cruel.

I did feel as others did re: Juno selfishly picking the unknown cave and boffing Sarah's husband.

However, I felt that Juno was indirectly responsible for the fatal car accident, too. Remember? Paul was distracted about "something." Probably, he was about to reveal the affair to Sarah & upset her life. Instead, his inattention contributes to the accident.

So, the cards were coming up against Juno at several levels.

Still I thought maybe out of rational self preservation, Sarah would spare her. Juno was a proven warrior and certainly wished no further harm on Sarah.

I do "get" that Sarah was fed some bum dope by Beth, though.

SOmeone, sadly, gave away what happens in the sequel. However, I'm amazed that Sarah would've made it TO a sequel. That last scene with her daughter and her, seemed pretty much to indicate she was near death.

I'll have to see, now how they 'splain how Sarah made it out!

I really like these boards!

well i'm not a christian, but it's not just about cheating, it'a about betraying your best friend, hurting that girl and leaving her (though juno was the only one who didn't abandon the first injured girl and fought viciously to save her.)
this is what make this movie so interesting, there is no black and white silly rubbish we usually find in movies.

This is THE best horror movie ever. But guys, didn´t ANY of you understand that "descent" is also referring to Sarah´s dimise into being what she became? She fell from grace. She was understandable and we sympathised with her, then she went bananas. Don´t get me wrong- and don´t forget- not only did her friends sleep with her man and made them get into the cave that they weren´t set out to get into- Sarah also lost her child! Certainly not Juno´s fault, but an experience that msut have added to Sarah´s feelings of hatred. Also, Juno... she is a brat. She shows off. She is making the others feel like their *beep* by flexing and being a bitch. Yes, she was brave and tough, but Sarah was even tougher.

Just because Juno was a bad friend and Sara's husband was a dirtbag doesn't mean that Juno deserved to be killed in cold blood. Sure they are in this situation because of her, but who could have accounted for supernatural monsters in a cave? I hope in the alternate ending that Sara is charged with murder.
