They should remake this with Jake Gyllenhaal & Scarlett Johansson in the leads with Paul Bettany as the husband and Keifer Sutherland as the detective.
It should be rewritten slightly so that the ghost bits at the end are more scarier and darker, as I found them a bit boring. And BinJip should escape from Prison using his newly discovered mutant powers.
The pace should be quickened cos at times the film dragged.

With all due respect, I think that a remake of this one would be a so stupid, films like this do ot function in the Hollywood enviorment, period. And all though the actors you mention for the parts is good ones, they would never pull of the perfection of the original film, never. why rewrite and remake, in my opinioon, perfection?

They could add in some more monsters to make it scarierer, like Gorge Lucas did with Jabba's Palace. Maybe make BinJips eyes go yellow/red when he shapeshifts / enters cloaking stealth mode. This would rock.

Can't they think of their own films anymore or do they have to keep remaking foreign films and older films?! It's mad. Parts of it are odd, but it can get away with them by being a foreign, Asian film. By US standards, some of the parts are just too off-the-wall to fly.
yeah and they should add some guns too.. maybe the husband could turn out in the final moment to be a drug dealer and the wife a heroin addict and then the kid uses his mutant powers to go back in time, kil lthe director before he writes the movie and then return tothe matrix
