Charles minor was not a bad guy.

people in the posts thought charles was a jerk for being mean to jim. However jim deserved it. Charles is the kind of boss a real world(not sitcom would have)

Before jan went nuts she was competent boss i have had bosses like charles he was fair.I know he was meant to be antagonistic but he was not your typical antagonist. He was just trying to do what he thought was best for office. He did not put up with slackers rewarded hard workers showed he had fun side with soccer. Unlike michael he did not put up with stanely crossword during meetings. Because of his serious demeanor his employees took him seriously. He did not waste company time in meetings. He is actually a kind guy just overly dedicated to his work. Michael has his douchey moments too. Like when he introduced them to charles he points out their embarrassing sexual history. One of the most unprofessional things ever embarrassing . then insulting kevin and his single life saying he has no sexual histroy. it is hard to view michael as the hero and charles villian he puts office and employees before his own needs

Why work harder than you should?" was a joke. he laughed too . he even trusted jim with rundown. jim should know what rundown is it is his job. That scene made me realize jim probably spends less time on his work . guess it's not for everyone," to me that did not sound demeaning it just seemed like a whatever to each their own type thing. The only time minor seemed like an ass was hge kicked soccer ball phyills face blamed jim. why would experience soccer play like minor kick a soccer ball that fast in parking lot. alike i said he gave jim plenty of chances to prove himself. but part of me think wasting company time bit him in butt cause he knows little about his job. when jim he had a postion that a makeup postion to dewight to make him feel better charles ask jim what tasts does someone in his psotion do he looked puzzled confused left. so charles did give jim chance to prove himself. jim did not have to lie about playing soccer charles comment meant to each their own.

yes he could have done that. But I am wondering how jim keeps his job if he could not handle a tast like that. . Charles minor gave him that task thinking he could do it iam guessing he gave him duty because jim position he suppose to know that stuff. that scene where he did not know what a run down is made me realize jim probaly spends more time goofing off then actually doing his work. I am guessing he gets off by his charm which makes everyone forget he is lazy charles minor only one that can see through him

Because we wouldn't have gotten the comedic gold that was Jim faxing his dad like 3 hours later to help him figure it out.

that soccer thing was after work after hours. it did show he had fun side too. the only thing i criticize him for is blaming jim for the ball hitting the coworkers face. he should have kicked a ball that fast in a parking a lot. Beside that soccer kick i would sya he was fair boss. DFWight is odd ball but jim does start a lot of conflict between the two. He is usually first to pull the pranks. Just because jim is charming people look the other way ignore dwight good work ethic cause he is offbeat . It is good that dwight is fianlly ewarded for good work. The soccer thing did show he had fun side. PLus lke i said he did not enjoy goofing off when it interrupted work hours which is why the soccer thing was after work. Besides soccer kick incident i cant say charles was mean to jim. He was fiar Lets face he is no worse then michael scott who done and said a lot worse to coworkers. LIke when he thought his golden ticket idea was going to get him in trouble wanted to use dwight as scapegoat. Inexcusable. Or when pam came to work with glasses he said to her you have to take glases off to look hot you got backwards. Insuataitng she was ugly.

And he was a brown-noser too!

that was the only time charles was in the wrong. Kick it so hard in a parking lot is not safe

Jim is not competent sales man. Jim should know what a run down is its part of his job he does not. HE spends more time goofing off playing pranks then . Charles minor and the show has stated few times dwight had highest sales record. It shows dwights numbers beat jim. Dwight puts more effort into the company jim does not care about company. Charles even talked to the office on how everyone sales number including jims where dropping this shows that jim was not a compiatant sales. Aside from Dwight eccentric personality he is a good sales who has strong work ethic. Charles was the new guy you can not blame for thinking jim disappointment. Charles walks in on him making ideas like 2 way petting zoo wears tuxedos at work does pranks on dwight. WHen charles does give jim oppurtitinty to prove himself like ask him what take an assistant to manager ( a position jim said was orignal fake) does jim cannot answer. Or back to run down scenro which he does not know. michael scott is an unprofesisonal boss who has mind of 6 year old so he would let this crap jim does slide but not a normal boss. Jan said in interviews she found jim attractive and charming so it shows she is bias when it comes to jim work performance. David wallace while not as dumb as michael is not exactly boss himself
