Who Cried during this film?

Well, I just saw this movie for the 5th time, and I still cried at least 6 times during the movie? Did anyone else cry?

reply

It's the most I've ever cried.

I got choked up when the mom is chasing the train in the beginning of the film and when Jin-seok has those flashbacks near the end of the film of the family playing around in the water.

I lost it though when Jin-tae, who had already defected to North Korea, attacked his younger brother and the brother just so helpless, trying to get through to Jin-tae that it's really him... that he's still alive. And I lost it again when Jin-tae FINALLY realizes that Jin-seok really is alive and promises him he'll see him again after the war. And, of course, when the film is in present day and an elderly Jin-seok is talking to Jin-tae's remains... absolutely heartbreaking. GREAT film.

There were two scenes where I ALMOST cried, Jin-seok when he is an old man and talking to the remains of his brother, and the scene when the officers make Jin-ta and Jin-seok stay on the train and they're saying good bye to their mom and Yong-shin.

There were many other scenes where I had goosebumps too.

I got emotional at the end when the old man broke down at his brother's grave."Why don't you talk to me? Why don't you talk to me now?". Damn :( The best movies have the ability to built up emotion and make you emotional at the end/climax when you realize all that has happened before that moment.

I cried like a baby at least 4 times. Moving film.

There has not been any single other film in existence that I have seen, that made me cry as much as I did when I watched this. A few scenes made me cry like a baby to myself, it was just that emotional and heart-wrenching. I think this is the best war film I've ever seen to date. Korean cinema truly does have a lot of masterpieces.

Almost did in the last 5 min. Spielberg sholuld learn how to make a movie that does not involves the zionist crap and the holohoax.

"Stalingrad. . . The fall of Stalingrad was the end of Europe. There's been a cataclysm."

reply

I couldn't help myself when the older brother sacrificed himself in the end.
