Is it just me or does this movie have an early 80's feel to it?
For some reason this film looks more like an early 80's movie than a 2000's movie due to Kip and Napoleon's hairstyles.

shareThat's what I always thought too. But due to the simple fact that Kip was on the computer chatting with babes all day, pretty much kills that theory. And I should also point out that Napoleon's prom night clothing looked like something out of the 70's. lol
shareI liked that. It was about people who were behind the times, in terms of fashion and technology. That's the sort of thing that tells you a lot about a town and it's people, in purely visual language.
shareIt's supposed to rouse feelings of nostalgia and is a blend of late 70s, 80s, and 90s.
shareIt looks like someone raided an attic and found some 1970s vintage polaroids, prom pictures and Sears catalogs.
shareI wouldn't be surprised if some small towns in Idaho were very much like this. Especially out in the middle of nowhere towns.

shareThere are similar threads like this for "Adventureland" (2009). It was supposed to be 1987 but it looked more like 1980 or so because "Pittsburgh was always slow to new style" or somesuch... OTOH Napoleon D was 2004 supposed to be 2004...
