STILL ANNOYED THEY CANCELLED THIS SHOW YEARS LATER !!

I loved SG-1 and Atlantis equally, I have SG-1 on DVD and Atlantis on Blu Ray. I am still annoyed that the powers that be cancelled Atlantis in favour of Universe so didn't finish Atlantis properly. No 100th episode finale, no mini series finish, no shortened final 6th series to finish. I feel it was a slap in the face to fans and to the show and its actors. Yes, the creators did their best but they could only do so much and it was still left unfinished. Universe was ok and it did grow on me, and surprise, surprise the ratings were not good enough for it either so the powers that be cancelled that too. It too got an ok finish but still left undone. So all that and we are left with basically 2 unfinished shows and lots of annoyed fans. Years later perhaps it might be time to satisfy fans, creators and actors who perhaps want to finish what they started, and perhaps MGM and Syfy should wake up and see the huge money machine they had and continue to take advantage of that for every ones sake.

Removing the fully charged Zed-pm's, then flying the city with just one, this made me ready to see it end, I got tired of seeing it on the edge of disaster every other episode, it's poor material!

Wasn't me

I miss it too. I was so excited when it premiered, and it lived up to my expectations. When I studied in France for two semesters between 2005-2006 the S1 DVD was one of most used things I brought with me. I'm fond of all the Stargate shows to some degree, but Atlantis is by far my favorite.

I have watched the show again for the third time and loved every minute of it like if it was the first time. Sucks that we never get a full ending. You can see they were setting up great things for later seasons. Atlantis was killed in its prime.

They could have at least given us an tv movie to wrap things up.

Unfortunately now its too late to pick up the show again because most of the actors moved on.

I watch this show all the time, its continuously on a loop, its so sad to see such a great show end. If I had the monies, I would fund the SGA movie my self.

10 years later, and yup, I'm stil supremely annoyed!

I loved SGA and was furious when they cancelled it. I have all SGC and SGA but not Universe. For some reason I hate it. A complete lack of likeable characters. I did try twice but I would rather have had more SGA episodes.
Oh gravity, thou art a heartless bitch!

may i ask, are we talking huge cliffhangers here? I am on S3 in netflix and i absolutely love it, but i don't want to spend the next month watching the rest if there is no resolve. For some silly reason I was under the impression a movie came out to tie things up.. guess I was wrong.

You don't get left on a huge cliffy. It's more like you've reached the end of a book and are waiting on the next book in the series. You get resolution for the story line started in the last episode but their are still many unanswered questions about what would happen next.

hey thanks, i literally had just finished up watching it before i saw this message. I was very satisfied with what they did. Felt a tad of emotion even as I said goodbye. What made this show awesome for me was that I cared about the characters. It did feel a tad rushed but as they say it was all short notice and they did the best they could. Lovely final. Good show :)

Although a TV movie or miniseries is unlikely to happen, I think they could film one without rebuilding the main set. There were plenty of episodes that focused on off-world settings. They could have a couple limited shots back at Atlantis, using green-screen techniques. But the rest of the story could be set in a generic off-world location. Outdoor settings would be even cheaper, because they wouldn't have to build many sets at all.

They wouldn't need all of the actors either. I think they would have to include David Hewlett and Joe Flanagan. They became the two primary characters. Maybe Jewel Staite and Paul McGillion too. I liked Rachel Luttrell but they could get by without Teyla if necessary. They could also work around the absence of Jason Momoa. I didn't think he did much other than fight, shoot his laser gun and grunt a few words here and there. They could find a replacement brawler character, if they wanted to keep that element in the mix.

The leader wouldn't be that important. They cycled through so many leaders that I doubt many would complain if they had yet another leader.

Maybe Hewlett and Flanagan should get together and start the ball rolling. How about it guys?

I'd love it and I am sure others would to but I just don't see it happening.. it's like wishing for a second firefly movie or season lol.. it's done and finished
