Any reason for the nudity?
I'm not a prude at all but in the film the night before the dive the female character is lying on the bed fully naked. From watching the scene I could not see any reason for this? Or is it just me?

sharei agree with poster one...there is no need for it..it was just in there for the sheer fact of having tits in a movie...no point
A wise girl kisses but doesn't love, Listens but doesn't believe, and leaves before she is left
They said the air conditioner was broken the scene before this one. Why is it so hard to believe a married couple on vacation wouldn't sleep in the nude in the south with no air conditioning?
There's nothing wrong with it, infact we sleep nude quite often with no intent on having sexl. We don't have kids and we don't have air conditioning so its just more comfortable. I'm assuming those who said "who does that?" are simply married folks with children.

All I know is the scene made me feel funny in my tummy, like when I climb the rope in gym class.
shareA lot of the film "philosophers" in here will say, "They did it because it represented this and showed the importance of that." I used to think the same way. But, I digress. It's all about selling sex. Don't try to sugar coat it with any fancy "philosophy". 99% of the time "sex sells".
shareIt was hot, they were going to bed so they sleep naked, no big deal. What was strange was how she had some of the sheet between her legs? It probably would have had a different rating if she didn't. This is probably the highlight of the film cause the rest is rubbish! Avoid this film or else you will regret losing one and a half hours of your life.
shareHow about this theory?
Earlier, Daniel stated that the air conditioning was broken. Perhaps it was too hot in there to sleep in full pyjamas.
Crazy, no?

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but bear in mind that they were in the Caribbean. It gets very humid in the tropics so it would be reasonable to not want clammy clothes all over you. Plus they did seem to have sex after, they were on holiday, etc. I don't think there's anything implausible about it.
How do you like them apples?

Hell I love to see gorgeous female flesh as frequently as possible. Seeing Blanchard Ryan in all her naked, perfect glory lying on the bed, even with nothing remotely sexual happening, almost had me scampering for the nearest tube sock. That being said however, while this nude scene was perfectly logical considering the context, I still don't think it should have been in the movie, simply because for the rest of the film's running time it was all I could think about! And while I may have p--sy on the brain constantly, I don't think I'm alone in my observation. The fact that this is the most talked about scene in the movie is not a particularly good reflection on the film itself. If the most memorable scene in a movie is a nude woman reading in bed...well, that's just bad filmmaking. Period.
Was she hot? Landing strip, jungle, or bald = beautiful?

One of the posters above said it would only make sense to be naked in bed if you're "getting ready for sex". What a sad life, baby! And when you're done with sex you put on your ankle length nighty and button it up to your chin, don't you?
