The MOST DEPRESSING movie I have EVER seen!!

I mean... This is coming from a guy that has Black Swan, Atonement, Memoirs of a Geisha, 21 Grams, La Vie en Rose, A beautiful mind, The Hours, Melancholia...etc on his top 20 list, most of these movies can be REALLY depressing...

But this, This is WAY over the top, i mean i loved Christian's performance and the story was interesting to me, but i thought the director took it to a whole new level with the depression, IT WAS NOT FUN TO WATCH!! i still have a headache from watching it at 1:00 am .

Overall this movie isnt everybody's cup of tea, u either love it or u hate it. i gave it a 6/10

reply

People either love it or hate it you say, yet you gave it a 6/10, which is neither love nor hate?

Haha. Indeed.

it's not depressing at all he relieve at the end, wanna see depressing movie see Requiem for a Dream

Schindler's List and The Pianist are 2 movies I will never forget and I could never watch again.

Rescue Dawn is another great Christian Bale film(again he loses a lot of weight for the role) about a man in a POW camp in the Vietnam War. Depressing...yes.

I wouldn't call Black Swan depressing so much as disturbing. If you want to see Aronofsky do depressing you can't beat Requiem for a Dream.

Has anyone mentioned David's Cronenberg Dead ringers?

reply

A.I. (lol) and Atonement will always be the most depressing for me, but I avoid depressing movies... haven't seen the majority of the above mentioned...

Um I don't think it's that depressing. It's certainly creepy, dark, and psychologically intense, but the ending is extremely hopeful

You must have liked "Flight".

This movie was absolutely brilliant. i just watched it today and only knew insomnia and christian bales dramatic weight loss as the only things i knew about this movie. if you want the most depressing films ever look no further than a serbian film and irreversible both foreign language films but two of the most amazingly depressing nauseating cinematic masterpieces of all time. These two are beautifully shot directed and deal with some of the most darkest depraved and downright depressing elements ever seen and shot on film.
These two are the most in my opinion depressingly beautifully sad cinematic masterpieces ever put on film. Warning these have some really *beep* elements in it but they are extremely good intelligent and some of the best shot best acted movies I've ever seen and both directors and the core actors of the two movies shine in ways most aspiring directors and actors/ress could only hope to one day achieve a fraction of
