Benjamin Button scene - why?!

Did anyone else wonder why this scene was included?

I thought it was terrible and made me think of Will Ferrell-style humor.

It didn't seem to fit with the rest of the film and there were plenty of amusing parts without it.

Did it strike anyone else odd that it was included?

Really loved the rest of the movie though... :)

Understanding movies is ultimately about forcing one self to find an explanation over and over again...

BB was like Mitty ... born old, growing younger day by day ... Jumping that copter was the youngest thing he ever did.

If you don't look at it superficially I think you'll see why it was in there.

It was Perfect! Doesn't have to make sense. Made me and my party crack up big time! lol

That was the only funny part in the whole movie. Well that and Ben Stiller showing off his skate moves.

It was the funniest scene i've ever seen in a theater... just hilarious. Obviously, Walter was daydreaming. It's acceptable, but still bizarre. Different type of humor, just like old Ben Stiller liked. He gave a shot with a scene like this, and im sure he enjoyed it.

(Sorry for my english)

None of the day dreams made sense, and in the scheme of things that was the most hilarious scene from the whole movie. Sorry you don't feel that way, buy my family and I were laughing hysterically well after the scene ended.

The old Kristen Wiig looked so like Nicolas Cage in that scene.

Here, I just picked up this huge metaphor that you seemed to have missed. It's so large, you have to shave it a couple of times a day. It's so weighty that once you notice it, you might want to schedule surgery to have it removed, because otherwise you can't un-see it. If it were a fish, someone would have smacked you upside the head with it.

Mitty is a slow turner. He is only then understanding things in ways that others knew as a child or as a much younger person. He is a better person for it and therefore unique and lovable. Once you get that, this scene is a total knee-slapper.
