well im surprised that you would call him your favorite player,considering you cant spell his name. Its Lou GEHRIG, he also happens to be my favorite player of all time :)

Gehrig was a fine man, but my favorite players are Buck O'Neil and Ernie Banks, who are also successful as men as well as ballplayers.

My favorite player was Campy Campaneris...
I like all Athletics....
Then comes Clemente, Mays, most 60's and 70's players...
and Baseball in general.

Another Orioles fan here. Grew up watching Cal Ripken and I don't think there will ever be another one like him. Currently, I like both Chipper Jones and Nick Markakis. As for deceased, gotta go with the last man to hit .400, Ted Williams.

Favorite from the 70's: Graig Nettles, Thurman Munson, Rich "The Goose" Gossage
Favorite from 80's/90's: Don Mattingly, Dave Winfield
Favorite players I've actually met: Gerry Narron and Ron Davis - both were great guys. There were so many other players I was a fan of, it would take pages to list them all.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

As a kid Dale Murphy was my favorite player.

Always will love Cal Ripken, Al Kaline, Ted Willaims, Mickey Mantle, Alan Trammell and Lou Whitaker.

I no longer follow baseball but when I did, I marvelled at what Sandy Koufax was able to do for a few short years. I was wondering. Did the person raising this question intentionally misspell all those words or was he simply a reflection of our current educational system?

Favorite team is the Red Sox. Favorite player is Roberto Clemente, although he died before I was born. Favorite player in my lifetime is probably Mark Grace.
