Is it better to watch the English dubbed or subbed version?

This is one of the few series where I prefer the dub. With the 70s style laced throughout the show, it comes through even more with the dub job (whether just for style or even for occasional cheese).
For an anime, the show is very American in its feel most of the time; and the dub lends itself to that.

Always preferred the subbed version, though it's probably because that's the one I'm most used to. When I first watched the series I made sure to watch it in its original language since I was well aware of how bad some English dubs can be (Not knowing how popular CB's Eng dub was). Ever since, I can't watch it any other way, the Japanese voice actors are just how I picture the characters to sound. I tried the Eng dub but it just didn't do anything for me. The guy doing Jet sounds like he's over doing it and I know I'm gonna get a lot of hate for dissing Steve Blum but I just never felt his voice suited Spike. The English voices for Faye and Ed are a lot better but I guess I'm just too much of a purist to really get into it. I'd probably like the dub more if that was the first version I saw but for now, subbed all the way.
Also I know that Shinichiro Watanabe has admitted to preferring the dub but that doesn't change my opinion. George Lucas also preferred the remastered version of the original Star Wars trilogy with pointless CGI additions.

I am usually a sub person but I remember watching this as a kid and hearing Spike's voice and really enjoying the sound of the English cast voices. I tried to watch it in Japanese but it just didn't sound right to me when the memory of American Spike was in my head. I just finished the whole series (just pure awesome btw) and reallyyy thought this was one of the best, if not the best, dub I've ever heard. I loved the accents they gave specific characters they met and Spike and JetBlack's voice were great.
I've always looked down on dubs but I might research some good ones and give it a try but I'll always be a sub girl.
I always watch dub, unless there isn't one available. I've always watched anime dubbed before I really found out about subbed, so that's how I'm used to it, but I also think it's simply easier to watch the action and listen to dialogue. Now, it's not that I -can't- watch subtitles, because some people say "you get used to it." I've gotten used to it, and am able to do it perfectly fine, I just prefer not too.
Foreign films, however, are sub-only. The only exception is if there is no sub available
I enjoy them both equally, although I prefer the subbed when it comes to the movie, if only because the Dubbed voice for the hacker was given an awful Australian accent and it completely ruins the character for me. It also might have to do with that I watched the movie (fan)subbed about 50 times before it was official released, so naturally I was bound to have a problem with one of the VA's.

It´s all up to preference but I personally never watch anything without it being in it´s own native launguage,so when it comes to any japanese movie or series,always japanese v/a with subtitles.

This is probably the best dubbed anime out there.. One of the few that sounds better in english.. I usually am fine with subs for most others though..

I have never seen a dub that is better than the sub, but the only one I've seen that comes close is Ghost in the Shell. I will say though, I do like the dub of the Cowboy Bebop movie. In fact, that's the only dub I like.

LOL, doesn't make much sense to me either. Maybe it's because I saw the subbed version of the series 10 times before watching it dubbed. It was the fingernails on my chalk board, you know? The movie on the other hand - when I watch it I flip a coin first to see if I watch it dubbed or subbed. I alternate on that one. At least in the movie there is a line of dialogue here and there that aren't in the subbed version that I really think should be there. Elektra when they're chasing Spike - she stops and speaks into a communicator to tell security where Spike's headed, for example. No words are heard in the Japanese version.

Dubbed for sure. Why even touch a sub when there is a perfectly good dub with Steven Blum, Wendee Lee and many others?
