Well, I like LeVar too but he was a terrible host who made constant mistakes. Not everyone is cut out to host a game show, and sadly Burton just didn't cut it.

Burton was trying to be Alex instead of himself. He was obviously nervous. The Trekkie in me still supports him. But, I'd have no problem with Amy getting the gig full-time.

I was a big fan of Roots and Star Trek Next Gen, but I was disappointed in Burton's performance. I liked Richards and he was my tie choice with (of all people) Aaron Rogers.

In any case, I've watched Jeopardy since Art Fleming.. if Bialik is the new host, I guess I've just about seen enough.

The claim that the US ecomonical growth was due to slavery is completely bogus. The North was decades ahead of the South economically at the start of the war.

And according to the census a higher percentage of black families in the pre-war South owned slaves than did white families. Put that in your bong and smoke it. Complicates things huh?

To whom exactly and by whom?

One of the things that's always been difficult for me to reconcile is that my ancestors were slaves, and I know it was their enslavement and misery that allowed me to be born in America and thrive today. I don't know how other black Americans feel about this, but it has always bothered me more than a little bit. If my ancestors weren't enslaved in the Americas, where I would be today? I certainly have the means now to live anywhere in the world that I choose, but there's no other place I would live.

The considerable guilt I feel over my ancestor's plight would be nothing if I was then "paid" for the labor and suffering that they had to endure.

Further, the vast majority of Americans living today have no ancestors who held slaves. These are the Americans who will be paying for this crock, including myself. I'm taxed enough thank you.

The only people who would benefit from "reparations" would be those who don't want to work to improve themselves and white liberals who would feel they accomplished something to correct a sin that can never be erased.

I was willing to give LeVar a chance, but he was just not good. Not sure how he had so many people rallying for him even before we could see how he was as a guest host. I am also tired of all these witch hunts. Mike Richards did something a long time ago. If anyone can say they never said anything that was a little off color, then they are lying. Some people's careers have been ruined because of a stupid comment they made years ago. Cosby drugged and raped women, but he is out and free to do what he wants once again. There is something wrong with this picture.

I was a big fan of LeVar since Roots, and later on Next Gen, and of course watched Reading Rainbow with my kids. I was really disappointed in his performance on Jeopardy. I don't think he's the answer.
