What was the deal with that part?

Were they homosexuals? I mean - Smiley did slap that girl's ass, who counted the money; so I don't think he was.

And if they weren't gay, then why are they suddenly acting as if they were gay?

Were they messing with Jake? If so, then how does acting gay mess with Jake?

What was the deal with that "I'm always gettin' love from the homies" part?

Its funny how these little things go over people's heads. The gangsters were just referencing their time in jail to throw Jake off as they stall him.

Yes, but only if by their time in jail you're specifically referring to them getting fucked in the ass (i.e. raped OP not by choice)
