He did Men In Black instead and it catapulted him to fame and him passing it up also let Keanu ascend as well, so it was the right choice in multiple regards.
shareIt would have been interesting to see Will play Neo, although it’s hard for me to imagine anyone other than Keanu in the part. That being said, I feel as though the biggest mistake Will has made outside of slapping Rock was passing on Django Unchained. And even though I love Jamie in this film, I can still see Will in the role, and I think it would have been the highlight of his career, performance wise.
