This was actually a great movie!!!

I thought this one of the best movies I have ever seen!!! I loved it!!! When I seen it had Christian Slater in it I was this movie is going to be so not good, cause I'm not a big fan of Christian, well did this movie change my mind. The whole movie from start to finish was awesome. I just can't get over how great it was. I love this movie!!!

I wouldn't call it a great movie, but I really like it, and must have seen it at least 10 times, including yesterday.

Thought the acting was good, some nice, (if a bit prolonged) action scenes, a couple of nice twists, and some humor. Maybe one too many 'escape at the last possible second' scenes, but still pretty exciting, and absolutely the wettest movie I have ever seen.

It's not great but it is an entertaining movie. The plot relies on conveniences a bit too much and the guns never run out of bullets unless when they need to, but I'm a sucker for big disaster set pieces and while contrived the movie does up the ante on the water action constantly.

Hard Rain was one of the stupidest movies ever.

If you want to see Christain Slater at his best, imho, it's in Broken Arrow.

Great movie? If you dont use your head or pay attention to details, sure. Such as Minie Drivers house overflowing up to first floor very rapidly while church is only shoulder height flooded and level doesnt go up. Nobody freezin like crazy in that water, guys getting shot with semi automatic rifles dont die when shot while a guy stabbed with a pocketknife almost dies instantly while an other guy gets electrocuted with a few 1000 volts and dies very slowly dramaticly .
But what the heck, its entertaining i guess.

I loved it, too. Can't believe I never noticed it/heard of it until just recently.

Anyone who is a huge action-thriller fan (by which I mean they like most action-thrillers, that's a big percentage of what they watch, they don't focus on realism fetishist complaints, etc.) should check it out. It's extremely suspenseful, it's a lot of fun, it's loaded with iconic scenes, it has a great cast who all do good work, and you'll also get a kick out of the amazing logistics that would have gone into making it.

For me the problem with the movie was that I was only too aware of the amazing logistics that must have gone into the making of the movie. I was also aware that I was watching actors who were paid to act from a script that was determined to get them from a to b.
The movie never sucked me in. I never lost myself in the reality of it. Its by no means a bad movie but the script is terrible in that its so convoluted that it wastes no time in puncturing the reality of the fictional world of the movie and reminding me that I am not watching characters, but actors being told what to do by the Gods that are the scriptwriter and Director.
