U-turn's impossible to take your eyes from. I always succumb to it and fall into some sort of trance when I watch it. Bobby's got so much sh!t to deal with.
I'm not a big Oliver Stone fan, but this film has always been one of my absolutely favorites and it's in a leauge of its own. The only semi-recent film that somewhat reminds me of it is 'Breakdown' with kurt russel.
A real cult classic.

I agree! This film is incredible...I just watched it for the first time last night and I was awstruck! I'm not a big Stone fan either, but U Turn is truly one of my favorites now:)

We must have the same taste mate as I love this film and also enjoyed Breakdown. Red Rock West is quite similar aswell. The characters in U Turn are brilliant and all the weird things that happen to Penn are so funny and twisted.

I loved it too. The editing really brings you inside the character's twisted heads. I think for the people who hated it that is just a trip they were not willing to make. Yes, he has the worst luck in the world. I also thought it served as the most dark/psychotic love story I have ever seen. The music only adds to all of this.

shareFear and lothing is a movie about 2 idiots doing idiotic things and apperently, altrough realistically, getting away with it. the film tries to portray this in a positive light with a humor that, while may be personal opinion, i didnt like at all.

It's hypnotic because of the cuts and the good acting (goes also for movies like "The Fugitive"). You are not able to think during the movie since every second something new happens.

i agree with u!! the directing, acting and score is great!!! jennifer lopez just mesmerizes me in this film, shes so mysterious, i never quite understand her and i feel theres more to her that we just dont no!

I agree - everything about this movie is very hypnotic - the imagery, the camera angles, the acting, the sound etc everything.
I'm normally one who steers clear of Jennifer Lopez movies (mainly because they are, for want of a better word, rubbish) but this is probably the best I've ever seen her act. Clare Danes and Joaquin phoenix are hilarious, Nick Nolte and billy Bob Thornton are just mesmerizing. Sean Penn though, is the only let down in this film as there just seems to be something off about his performance in this movie.
