15 years later, still worst big budget movie I have seen
Watching it for first time since it first came out, and its just as horrible as I remember.
I have seen some truly horrible movies, but this one is at the top of the list.

HORRIBLE film.
Can't believe you all... I always loved this movie. I'm 24 years old now so I have some nostalgic emotions regarding this film, as I loved to play some iconic scenes with my Action Mans back then ^^. I loved the emotional debt and dramatic music. Loved the guns, the family on both sides, the unique story, how unlikely it might be even.

why don't you say it a couple of times more, it's not as if you weren't clear enough the first time.
I doubt this is a horrible film, I like it, but I guess mostly because I am nostalgic, I would probably consider it mediocre now, so 7.3 is weird in a way. But then again it has fairly interesting unique story and is memorable despite it being cheesy.
you must be a retard

I really liked it.
Everyone I know really liked it.
it's a very solid action movie and a good time
I like the way the lead actors switch rolls.
You go from hating Nic Cage's character to feeling sorry for him in just a few minutes.

Also just read a book by a top film critics society thing (forget the actual name, of course) that listed the top 100 movies of all time, only one allowed per year.
Face/Off made the list. And damn well deserved it. Most fun I've ever had watching a movie.
It's on now...I love this movie
Pretty sure any Michael Bay film is worse than this, with the possible exception of the rock. And by the way this movie rocked hard.

Notice I said worse, not necessarily bad. I found Face/off better than any Michael bay movie I saw, but that doesn't mean his were all bad. Transformers 2 is still a complete train wreck, but I thought some were ok, like the rock and even Armageddon, just not overall better than Face/off in entertainment value, and you are right I have not seen every Michael bay film, but I can't imagine the ones i haven't seen being too different. The island sounded interesting, but reminds me a little too much of Logan's Run.
shareThis morning, my wife was watching it, and I sat down for a bit and watched most of the climactic finale sequences with her while I had my tea. Viewing had the same effect as when you look in the fridge for a snack, find and eat some grapes... then discover after that they had mold on them; a sort of 'this might be ok' moment that suddenly turns to feeling physically ill.
While the acting was decent quality for both Cage and Travolta, I feel there should be a program set up to help rehabilitate those forced to suffer through this nonsensical waste of time.
Hardly the worst big budget movie ever. Flawed? Yes. Terrible? No. A moderately entertaining action-drama movie burdened with the bizarre plot element of the face/voice switching.
