A major step up from part III
Bloodline is a huge step up from part 3; while 3 bored me sometimes, i was never bored with this one. Its feels like a true Hellraiser film

I agree about the transformation of the Pinhead character. What drew me to the series in the beginning was the uniqueness of the Cenobites as villains: Amoral, Lovecraftian entities separate from the mindlessly evil, rampaging baddies of other 80s horror movies. It was original and fascinating. Making Pinhead into a more-or-less traditional demon bent on world domination is what crippled the franchise for me. YMMV.
shareCertainly an improvement from III. The first 2 have a low budget auteur feel to them. 3 and 4 feel more Hollywood but I still enjoy them. Everything that followed just lacked anything special and are obvious they were just random scripts cenobites were written into.
Pinhead's appearance at the end of inferno is one of his best scenes/monologues though, inferno really isn't that bad.
shareI prefer part III although I enjoyed this one a lot too. Nothing can beat the first two though.

I also liked the third movie, but it may have helped that I had a tremendous crush on Terry Farrell at the time, hehe. (I watched the movie after DS9 had been on air for a while).
shareYes, this movie definitely isn't 'boring', it has very good pacing. But I think due to the fast-pacing it does get maybe a little confusing and feels a little rushed. A solid 5/10.
