Best assassin movie?

Is this the best ever assassin movie?

If not what is?

"Smokin's Aces" fits into this category by any chance. It was entertaining, but perhaps not as good as the classics.

My list:

1.- "Assassins" by Richard Donner.

2.- "The Killer" by John Woo

This is definitely a good one. Leon is better, I would say. This is a better film than Smokin Aces. Unforgiven is definitely better. Road to Perdition is worse. The Replacement Killers is good, but not as good as Assassins. JFK was ok.

"Apocalypse Now" by a zillion miles over everything I've seen suggested here.

@ Mr Cryptic ...

Apocalypse Now is NOT a assassin film even though technically he hunts down someone so in a sense you could say he's a assassin hunting down a guy but it's not a assassin film in the typical sense as it's easily more towards a psychological war type movie.

p.s. and for the record, i think even though Apocalypse Now is a overall good film i do feel it's overrated as most of the assassin films listed here i would rather watch over it on average as Apocalypse Now aint a movie i would like to see alot although it is a movie i can watch here and there but i gotta be in the mood for it. (so far i only seen it once and it was the 'Redux Version' as i never seen the standard one)

As was already mentioned, Léon is the best, hands down. Then Nikita. As was also already mentioned, Grosse Pointe Blank is great too. Kudos to the dude with good taste.

This is one of my favorite guilty pleasure movies of the 90s, but COLLATERAL is the best film with an assassin (played by Tom Cruise in his best film performance).
