Pulp vs. Shawshank vs. Forrest
Which movie do you think is the best of '94? The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, or Forrest Gump? In my opinion, it's Forrest Gump.

If you didn't consistently prove yourself to be a totally ruined, obsessed, ignorant, retarded jackass, I would care to discuss something with you. But since you do consistently prove yourself to be a totally ruined, obsessed, ignorant, retarded jackass, you can go to hell.

I can answer.
But what part of "If you didn't consistently prove yourself to be a totally ruined, obsessed, ignorant, retarded jackass, I would care to discuss something with you. But since you do consistently prove yourself to be a totally ruined, obsessed, ignorant, retarded jackass, you can go to hell," do you not understand?
Oscars are not the necessarily the benchmark for greatness. That being said all three films are very good but in my opinion there is no question "Pulp Fiction" is the best with "Shawshank Redemption" second and "Forrest Gump" coming in at third. "Pulp Fiction" is to me one of, if not the greatest film ever made and my favorite personally. The order in which the film was told was revolutionary and changed movie making forever, and the dialog is so true to life, funny sure, but it doesn't try too hard and is just so pure and genuinely brilliant. Also the lines in "Pulp Fiction" are so quotable and recognizable in modern culture and yet come across more like a phrase that only you and your closest friends have been saying to each other as a tongue in cheek gag. Shawshank is without question an amazing film and worthy of best picture in most years. Everything about it is beautiful and ugly at the same time and the acting and directing is phenomenal. It is truly a masterpiece of film and yet to me is not quite as good as "Pulp Fiction." Lastly "Forrest Gump," well it's a good film but to me it hasn't aged all that well. It seems quite unrealistic and a bit silly at times and gets a little worse with every viewing while "Shawshank" seems to stay pretty much the same and "Pulp Fiction" seem to get better. Although it won best picture in 1994 I think many would agree now that "Forrest Gump" deserved to be nominated but not necessarily to win that award.
shareI HATE Forrest Gump with a passion, Pulp deserved to win.
shareForrest Gump.
shareeither Pulp Fiction or Forrest Gump... today, I'd say Pulp Fiction...
Sean Bean has not died from Lightsaber related issues yet...just saying
Forrest Gump. Pulp Fiction may be the coolest and most influential film here (and it is my kind of film), but I don't like the whole thing... yet. None of them are my pick for the best of '94, though.
Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

Gump, only because of the work that was put into it.
shareI love all three.
"Here are beauties which pierce like swords or burn like cold iron."-C.S. Lewis on LOTR
For me it comes down to whether I want to see a film many times. Pulp and Shawshank are two films I can watch over and over. Gunp is not. Shawshank is 1st, Pulp a close 2nd, Gump a distant 3rd for me.
