shareI’d be nice to see some more movies like this getting made today.
shareI've been catching bits and pieces of it on Pluto lately. Gotta rewatch the whole thing. I forgot how well-made this was. The sets alone are simply awesome.
shareVery true. It's also just a really great example of how to adapt material for the screen. It differs, sometimes quite significantly, from the source material, but it retains the major plot elements and (most importantly) the spirit and themes of the comic, so it works and it never feels like it was being made by people who were treating O'Barr's work as cheap or disposable. Compare this to The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen to see what happens when somebody doesn't care about the source. Against something like Watchmen, and it's easy to see how a too-close adaptation can wind up being flawed, too. I'm not saying The Crow is perfect, but it did so much so right.
