God is a cheater...

and he's got a pretty twisted sense of humor too according to this film. I mean it's not like he's helping this team improve their own skills or giving them the power to win on their own. No he has to make it painfully easy for them to win. And then, in a cruel "ha ha *beep* you" he refuses to help them win the World Series. They weren't good enough to get to the world series in the first place. They didn't deserve that honor. Think of all the teams out there that didn't have Gods help, is that fair to them? And what for? Cus some stupid kid doesn't understand sarcasam and somehow just thinks if the Angels win he can get back together with his dad? I mean cus that makes sense right? Of all the horrible things happening in the world the one thing God goes out of his way for is to fu*k with this kids head?

If you can fill this board with all of that and expect a rational person to read it and consider its validity, then you should be willing to do the same. Watch the video, then read something else.

Nah, Zeitgeist is just a series of Skeptical opinions formed by people who have no hope. As interesting as the verifiable facts of this film are, Sometmes you just can't explain why things happen.

Can you explain what possess people to do good things for others? Can you explain the oorigin of charity? Or why it feels so good to love someone? Yeah sure maybe scientifically, but some things are just inexplicable.

You must have some really good drugs. Plus, did you not watch the end of the movie? He adopts the kids and you have a classic Disney happy moment.

My Sig: Nothing Here.

okay people here's the thing:

ITS A MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its all pretend, fake, not real, didnt happen!!
god didnt help the angels win, the angels didnt help the angels win. wanna know why???

BECAUSE NONE OF THIS EVER HAPPEND!!
get over it!! its a childrens movie! sheesh!!!

ya'll are complaining about something that didnt happen in real life and are angry like the people who made this movie pulled god out of the sky and told him to make this team win at the expence of everyone else. this movie was made purely for entertainment purposes and nothing else. if you didnt like the plot of the movie about angels helping a baseball team win games then you shouldnt have watched it. you knew going into it that that is what happend!!

and besides even if the angels did help them get to the champainship they didnt help them win it! the team did that all on their own, and besides it was also mentioned at one point in the movie that the angels weren't helping them in every single game, some of those games they did really win on their own.

God was helping Roger, JP, and George find hope and family through baseball, he never really cared who would win the World Series.

When you're 17 a cow can seem dangerous and forbidden...am I alone here?

First of all God does not "take sides." Second of all God will answer ANY prayer if your motives for that prayer are of a Godly nature. The young child in this film only wants to have his father back in his life, his father tells him that the only way this can occur is if the Amgels win the pennant. Praying for such a thing in this case is not a selfish endeavor as it would be for someone to pray for $ 1 million for no other reason then to be rich.

Also the father says that they can get back together if the Angels win the pennant knowing that this will never happen, since at the time of the movie the team had never won the AL pennant and this fictional version of the team was horrible! There was no sarcasm involved as you see when the Angels do indeed start to have a legitimate chance to win the pennant the father goes to court to abandon his son once and for all! In the end God brings together three people (the 2 boys & Knox) who had large holes in their lives, the 2 boys with no parents and Knox who only knew his hate and anger for Wilder, and in turn everyone else, cause of Wilder ending Knox's career.

The movie is more about healing of emotional wounds than about a baseball game!

God can do anything if you put your trust in Him!

That is what occured in this movie.

Would you please explain these verses?

Leviticus 25:44, Deuteronomy 25:11-12, Deuteronomy 23:1,Genesis 38:8-10, Ezekiel 23:19-20, 1 Cor. 11:7, 1 Cor. 14:34, Gen. 38:9-10

This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.

reply

Uh, it was like that because when God answered his prayer he started the whole Angels thing going. Which made Knox trust and believe in Roger. Thus they got to know each other, which led to Knox adopting both him and J.P at the end. So Roger got his prayer answered in that he got a family this way. Plus they helped the team get confidence. You can tell they pretty much planned it this way when Al gives a knowing smile and says "we're always watching" then flies off at the end.

God made the universe, so God is free to do whatever it wants. I wouldn't recommend calling God a cheat. You might end up a pillar of salt or worse. Just saying.

reply

Children starving Africa...better send my Angels down to fix some baseball games. Maybe God put a lot of money on the Angels to win.

What was stopping the other teams from praying for their own angels? Or for that matter, going to the Dark Side and getting some minions out on the field for their side?
