Battle actually was not that terrible
Actually the Battle of Stalingrad was not near as bad as what most people think. It is interesting, but not really that big of a deal. Good movie, but I would not bother to watch it a second time.

how would you know if the battle was terrible, not being there?
TOP has obviously not seen the 2-disc DVD release, where disc 2 contains interviews with actual german and russian soldiers who took part in the battle of Stalingrad.
The stories they tell are terrible and its no wonder that the soldiers on both sides where scared for the rest of their life.
Was there some competition for the dumbest post on IMDb going on in 2007 that I´m unaware of and which the OP participated in?
Anyways, the most amazing thing about Battle Of Stalingrad to me is that most soldiers fighting it actually managed to retain their sanity.

well done autistic engineer. you have written one of the most retarded and ill informed posts of all time.
EPIC FAIL.

The Battle was considerably worse than what most think. The movie doesn't realistically depict it. For Soviet troops, being sent to Stalingrad was nearly always deadly. And by far the majority of the German soldiers there and fighting out on the plains died.

24 pages! This has to be one of the most successful trollings in IMDb history.
"I don't deduce, I observe."
Yeah bravo to the OP for the troll job. Although he is right. Stalingrad was a picnic. Nobody died and friends were made. The Germans and Soviet soldiers played soccer instead of fighting. After the picnic, the Germans said farewell, but the Soviets had such a good time they spent the next two years following them home.
