possible idea:five students who grew very cloes to their 7th grade teacher go to visit him in the summer. they decide hed be cool with a little prank. however, im not sure how, it goes wrong, and the teacher ends up dead. one of the girls, who is actually jud crandall (of pet semetary 1)suggests that theybury her in the pet semetary, after hearing from other elders what goes on up there. however, they dont know the half of it. the grandaughter, another girl, and the three other boys venture to the pet semetary and bury their teahcer. on the first day of school he returns, unlike anything theyve ever known him to be. soon, they realize hes deadly and terrorizes the whole school, narrowing down to his final five targets, his burriers. what do you think?

I gave this some thought. And I think part 3 should go in a little different direction and tie up some lose ends. Have it revolve around a psychiatrist. A 20 something guy who is assigned to study Ellen Creed. The reason she is in there, is because of her dreams and visions from the first movie the grandparents had her locked up. Only now Ellen rarely talks and only speaks of "beyond the pet sematary. and Paxcow." as well as other events from the first movie.

The doctor and a crew of his decide to investigate what all Elle is saying. They eventually turn up to some negative responses. Steve Matherson, who is still around finally cracks to them at a bar. He tells them the legend of the pet sematary and beyond. The doctors laugh it up and have more drinks. They begin to drive back to where they are staying and they crash. One of them die from the accident. They argue and fight over what to do. One of them convinces the others to try the Burial Ground out. They argue some more of what to do and decide that even if it does not work, they can just report the person missing and sort of wash their hands with it.

Eventually the person comes back stupid, but similar to Gus from Part 2. A hunger for blood. The main doctor convinces them to allow Elle to return to the scene of her old house and everything is solved there. Elle begins to come to and helps them defeat all the evil's from the burial ground. As well as some old familar faces. The ghost of Louis shows up in dreams to reassure Elle what must be done and such.

A little rough on the edges, I know. But that has always been my general idea of what to happen.

Work hard. Play Harder!

well this thread should be fossilized by now, but I just had to add my 2cents on the OP's idea...
If you even want to have some kind of continuity or faithfulness to using that title & calling it a sequel then I believe it would have to continue in some way as the first 2:

1) it's called Pet Semetary, there has to be a beloved pet die and come back...

2) one thing they were very clear on in both movies (& the book) was "you bury your own, that's how the indians did it"...

What I see them doing would probably be more along the lines of Jason X, some kind of futuristic sci-fi flick...and I can't say why I get that feeling!

They really need to explore Ellie Creed for PS3. There's numerous possibilities of a pet dying. She can be "rehabilitated" and released but her cat/dog gets run over. Her curiousisty makes her move back to Ludlow and make the journey beyond. She does and all these flashbacks happen of "her dreams." She slowly slips into insanity once again and the townsfolk eventually discover her identity and take vigilantic justice upon her by burning her and her resurrected things in her childhood home, something along those lines.

New possible idea: Rodney is a military cadet, he was deployed years ago and returns to his home where his single mother (Ellie Creed) and his sister wait him. When he gets home there is a break in at the house down the street and their pet cat and dog got loose. The next day, Rodney teaches his sister Julie how to hunt and they meet the animals. They take the animals home and then a few days later the cat gets out after scratching the dog and the dog chases it onto the highway and in a sick turn of events, Ellie runs over both of the animals and kills them. Julie get sad and Rodney has to go dispose of them. So he takes it over to the cemetery where they say that he can't put animals in the cemetery because it isn't an official burial. After Rodney gets mad at them, he's told about the pet sematary a few miles from his house. So he goes back and goes down the trail. As soon as he gets there he meets Hannah, a girl who's bunny just got killed trying to get over the wooden logs. He asks where she's going and she tells him of the Micmac burial ground. So they go there together and bury their dead and return to the sematary together. After dark, the pets return, except incredibly calm. Ellie and Julie go into town for a girls' night out. Ellie also tells Rodney to be alert in case robbers come to rob them. Later that night, Rodney is awoken by someone trying to open the front door. He grabs his shotgun, and blasts it through the door. He then opens it to find out it was Julie trying to get back in for her purse. Ashamed, Ellie drives away from the house and leaves Rodney with his dead sister and the undead animals. He doesn't know what to do until he hears the doorbell ring and finds out it was Hannah. She says she heard a gunshot a was wondering if everyone was okay, then she sees Julie. They hurry to the burial ground and buries her. They return when they see her dad Benjamin who asks where they were. Then he sees the undead animals and asks if they'd been to the burial ground. They answered yes and he tells them what happens to the animals there and they see undead Julie at the edge of the forest and they rush inside the house. The dog and cat then attack Hannah's dad and kill him. Hannah screams and runs upstairs while Rodney shoots the dog and cat. They run upstairs as undead Julie bangs on the door and asks to be let in. Rodney asks if it's really Julie and undead Julie says that Julie burns in hell for what Rodney did. And then Rodney runs up the stairs as undead Julie breaks through the door. And as she's walking up the stairs, Rodney blasts her back down the stairs. He runs down and grabs a machete from the supply shack and completely dismembers undead Julie and as he brings it down on her neck, she lets out a feeble "no" and then she's decapitated. He walks back upstairs and sees that Hannah had backed up to the window that had been loosened earlier to let cool air in and fell out the two story window. Rodney (saddened) that his entire family is destroyed and sees one hope left. And believes that the soil turned back to good so he takes Hannah to the burial ground and buries her. Then he returns home and waits for her. And she returns and she says she's grateful for his sacrifice. And moves in to kiss him, and behind her back is the same machete Rodney used to kill undead Julie all bloodied. The screen cuts to black as Rodney is heard screaming. After the credits, Ellie returns to the house and finds it a complete mess and bloody and then she see's undead Julie's dismembered body as she hears ripping and tearing. She walks into the kitchen and sees undead Hannah eating Rodney. She stops, turns to Ellie and smiles with blood soaked teeth and she laughs menacingly. THE END.

I think they waited too long for another sequel. There would be 25 years between both sequels. The Ramones are disbanded so no cool ramones song over the end credits. The director Mary Lambert is already 65 years old. They could have someone else direct it i know.

It was rumored that Furlong would make a cameo. I think he's nearing his 40's. There's talk to remake Pet Sematary instead.

If there is indeed a sequel it will be a new family with no connection to the others movies.
