Where could Kim Basinger have cameo'd?
Maybe at the ball Bruce couldve briefly run into Vicki Vale
Kim in 1992

Nah. There should be different leading girl in each movie, like the Bond films. Basinger = B89. Even if it's just a cameo, she shouldn't be in it.
Sharon Stone should've been in this movie instead of Pfeiffer.
Well she was in Catwoman the movie , but 1992 Stone as Catwoman in BR would've been amazing (with Michelle Pfeiffer in Basic Instinct)
shareStone would've been perfect as catwoman, not only because she's in the same league as Kim Basinger, but she was born to play duplicitous characters and could also fight convincingly on camera (as seen in Total Recall).
Unfortunately she was probably filming dogshit like basic instinct at that time.
"Sharon Stone should've been in this movie instead of Pfeiffer."
No.
Yes. Did you see her Total Recall? She had the sweet/bad angle down like no other actress at that time, which is perfect for catwoman, and as attractive as Michelle Pfieffer is, she's not in Stone's league.
shareIt's not even about attractiveness, Pfeiffer is much more catlike than Stone, who also has a sort of masculine vibe (no, I'm not saying she's ugly or looks like a man).
Stone does also not come across as a bad girl who's actually a good girl inside or a good girl who's suppressing her bad side (however you want to interpret the character). She gives off the aura of a seductive bitch, a role she has played multiple times. She might've looked good in a catsuit, but she would not have been believable as a romantically frustrated mousy secretary.

Sharon Stone fan, huh?
I haven't seen that movie, but Pfeiffer was perfect as Selena AND Catwoman and I have my doubts Stone would've been able to give a vulnerability to both personas and make the audience feel empathy for them (I think that's one issue she often has as an actress). I also don't think she would've had the same chemistry with Keaton.
I'm sure other actresses could've played the role and maybe Stone wouldn't have sucked. But better than Pfeiffer? Nah.
I haven't seen that movie

I'm just not so sure Stone would've fit in Burton's quirky 1930s gothic world. (She was perfectly cast in Casino, though. Fit her role much better than DeNiro and Pesci did theirs.)
The weirdness could have been toned down a bit, but my biggest problem was too many characters and not enough Batman. Other than that, it's my favourite Batman movie.
I've noticed how much of a popular cult movie that BR has become over the years, folk were pretty dedicated to it on the old imdb boards. I'm sure fans love the depth to the main characters, how real they feel as opposed to the cardboard cut outs in Nolan's efforts. It has gotten a lot better over the years, tbf.
shareLol, let's not discuss Nolan here!
shareOf course, I always wondered how Annette Bening would've portrayed Catwoman since she was originally suppose to play the character prior to her becoming pregnant. I believe that Tim Burton saw her in this movie called The Grifters (which funny enough, features Pat Hingle AKA Commissioner Gordon in a supporting role) that landed her first Academy Award nomination.
shareHad Tim Burton and Michael Keaton actually made a third Batman movie instead of what we ultimately got with Batman Forever, then maybe, I couldn't seen (of course, depending on the story they wanted to tell) Kim Basinger back as Vicki Vale. It's kind of like how the ill-fated Superman IV brought Margot Kidder back as Lois Lane after mostly sidelining her in favor of Lana Lang in Superman III.
As it is, I really don't know how the character would've fit in Batman Returns. Having Catwoman as the female lead does admittedly, fit in better with the whole animal motif or aesthetic ("The Cat, the Bat, and the Penguin") that they were going for. Plus, I'm guessing that having Catwoman along with Penguin (who was considered the second most famous or recognizable male Batman villain after The Joker) was better from a marketability standpoint. I believe that Vicki Vale actually is in an earlier draft from Sam Hamm, when it was a more explicit direct sequel to Batman 1989.
It wouldn't work. They have that dialogue where Bruce talks about Vicki being unable to reconcile his personae so she left. Adding Vicki back in would demand that the interaction be around their relationship, which would bog the movie down.
If they wanted to make Vicki a side character, they could, but they'd have to have her throughout the movie to do justice to the character. And if they wanted to tack on another 15 minutes of screen time, they'd have to work the reporter angle. Bruce would use Vicki for research and information about the Circus Gang and the Cobblepots - as well as, perhaps, some dirt-digging on Schreck. They would still have chemistry but the tension would be too much. This would get ratcheted up as Bruce became more infatuated with Selina. There'd have to be some rivalry there. They could maybe also have Vicki forced to write the article about Batman killing the ice princess, which she'd have to do reluctantly, given that she knows who Bruce is and knows that he would never in a million years off the girl. At the end, Vicki would probably be falling for Bats again, but he'd leave her to pursue Catwoman, get shot down, and wind up with nobody.
But, ultimately, the movie already has plotlines involving Max, the Penguin, Catwoman, and Batman/Bruce reconciling his two sides. Adding in a whole bunch of stuff with Vicki would really confuse things.
