Your favourite quote!

Greetings everyone, what's your favourite quote from this all time classic amazing fantastic movie?

reply

Although I don't agree with your description "all time classic amazing fantastic movie", it is a pretty entertaining flick.

Fav quote... must be: "Don't ever, ever mess with another mans fries!"
Not the exact quote, but something like that.

reply

Hey, that's a great quote.

The quote you are thinking of if I remember goes something like:

"There are several sacred things you never mess with. One of them happens to be another mans fries".

HOW TRUE IS THIS STATEMENT!!!!!!!!!!

That's also one of my favourites as well!

My favorite was when Keith David said "he was provoking me" after he after he rammed the pizza guy's head in to the wall! ... too funny!

when carl is in the apartments

"... yes yes for 5 years ive been in the building am a....fu...furnaligist"
susan "what exactlyis a furnaligist?"

carl "oh i feel and interpet the size of Walt's A****ole...i mean skull features"

reply

I know he's not a major star or anything, but I just recently found out that the guy who plays the Pizza man His name escapes me, well he was born in my hometown I just found out yesterday and I think that is awesome that is one of my favorite movies and to honor him correctly

"Hey you with the pellet gun, put it down or I'll blow your butt away for sure buddy"

James" Laughing "You think we'd pull something like this with a pellet gun"

reply

That would be Dean Cameron: http://www.deancameron.com/

reply

Dean Cameron was the man in "Summer School", another great eighties comedy. He makes the movie.

I don't know my favorite quote, but my favorite part of the movie is definitely the garbage collecting montage. Hysterical!

reply

Yep Dean definitely elevated Summer School.

Keith David had a ton of hilarious lines in M@W. What a psycho. Dean said my favorite one though, I still use it once in a while when I answer the phone. "Pedro's Pizza and Pancakes."

reply

[deleted]

My favorite is...

When James is in the bathroom on the phone to the police...

"Well F#@$ Me, isn't that what the police are supposed to do...help people?!!!

Then he screams like a girl when Keith David walks in the bathroom with the end of the phone cord in his hand.

too funny

reply

"well *beep* me!" rofl^

You should watch him in Summer School.

"Let's examine the word: hopeless. Less than hopeful. That's what you are."

"I think he wants us to kill some more people." "Okay."

And, of course: "Golf clap!"

I love this movie.

"Now get your patchouli stink out of my store!"

reply

james had some hope!

this part was great-
james: this sucks.
louis: what...did you say, son?
james: the name...is james.
louis: well james if you expect to keep this job, i suggest you tell me what it was you were mumblin'.
james: i said...this sucks & so do you!

also- carl: now, for some sliced papaya if it's in season. sh-t! mango! i should have known!

Golf clap? Golf clap.

reply

"Pardon me? Let's not forget that it was ME who chose the bank that we went to to get our loan."

"Let's not forget that we didn't even get the loan! I mean, it's not like you researched it, James! You picked the name out of the Yellow Pages!"

Two things made this movie.
1) Emilio and Charlie having a good time working together. Chemistry is king
2) Keith David. He rocked.

reply

I am so glad to see other's sharing in the appreciation for this rare, passed-over treat. Again, to repeat those above, great chemistry between two guys who are obviuosly having a good time working together. For another great movie featuring Charlie and Emilio, check out RATED X (docu-drama about The Mitchell brothers, infamous 70s porn pioneers and their subsequent "fall from grace"). Anyway, on to the quotes:

"You're a stupid man; you're a stupid little man !!" -Carl as he's choking James in the middle of the street after discovering the body.

"You know Biff, you're an amazing man; you know s*** absolutely about nothing." -the other bad guy "hit man" who are chasing them to recover the body.

The music is pretty good in this too; Stewart Copeland, former drummer of The Police, worked on this.

"What an absolutely gorgeous day. Warm sun, beautiful women, and the air is
just right for drinking." Me and my freinds use this toast all the time.

"Gina Gina GINNNNA!"
"Let her go man."
" I know, I have she is historical."

"Goddamn tape, shrewd move Berger."

Three things that make this movie.
1. Charlies and Emilios hair in this movie is awful.
2. How insane and unreal the story is.

reply

[deleted]

The movie is great, i can't disagree with you guys there. It's been a favorite for years. But I don't think the movie gets better than when my boy Chuck Sheen and Emelio are talking about their surf shop. "you see what kind of activity this down here carl" "just picture it carl and James' surf shop" "it's a gold mind"........."and the air is just right for drinking"

reply

This is one of his best mologues ever. He can do Goliath(Gargoyles) and comedy. Kieth david rules!

"Yeah, cop, I know you, man. I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, we've got us another crazy *beep* here with a gun. Well, let me tell you something. Human life means very little to me at this point in time. You see, I thrive on misery. In the jungle, misery's all you got. But things are different back here in the world, or so they seem. Nobody wants to talk about pain and suffering. Everybody wants everything to be nice and civil. Well, OK then. Let's be nice; let's be civil. And let's drop those guns before I pull this trigger and change the way you feel about me."

Its great when Emilio tries to copy him later "I know what your thinking,..crazy white boy with a gun" Hilarious.

reply

'i didn't ask you garbage man!'

I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"

reply

This is a line recycled from Better Off Dead!

reply

"Golf clap?"
- "Golf clap."

Gets me every time.

Walking away from the end of the world

reply

Either Lewis's (Keith David) line, "Aww. Looks like somebody threw away a perfectly good white boy," or during the scene where the cops pull them over in the pickup and putting the gun to Deam Cameron's head, gives the speech that begins with "I know what you're thinkin'. You're thinkin' 'We got us another crazy n---er with a gun..." Classic.

Although you all have put up some great quotes from a great, underrated movie... I think some of my faves are:

When James and Carl are doing their rounds of garbage collecting, one of them gets in the way of a guy on a bike or something and the guy get's p*ssed at one of them and either Carl or James say, "shut up you d*ckhead". The way he says that cracks me up.

How about, "Now I want Mr. Sneakyman to come around and join his partner Mr. Bonehead" - classic line!

And I love when Emilio is stuck in the bathroom on the phone with the cops and he gets frustrated and says, "well *beep* me!!! Isn't that what you're supposed to do - help people?!?" Then when Louis busts open the door and Emilio lets out that shreak of terror. Hysterical!

I think my all time fave is when Louis looks right at the camera and says, "Rent-a-cops. I hate rent-a-cops too!"

This has prompted me to watch this tonight. Killer movie - a lot of fun!

reply

We're not soldiers and he's not the enemy. He's a pizza man.

reply

"Somebody threw away a perfectly good white boy."

OH MY GOD, I THOUGHT 95% OF THE ANSWERS TO THIS QUESTION WERE GOING TO BE FOR THAT QUOTE. That quote with its accompanying scene were used to promote the movie at the time and I would have thought it was the most memorable thing about the movie.

reply

I'd say the entire dialog between James and Carl as they are hanging on the back of the truck.

"Hey Carl, I didn't think of anything yet!"

reply

"Where are my gloves, amigo?"

"In the glove caompartamente!"

reply

i love that whole scene where the pizza man shows up to the door. and keith david says "mind ur own business son"

"ok ok...thank u sir"

"YOUVE SEEN TOOOO MUCH"

and i love that whole scene afterwards too.

reply

People forget that when James is holding the Pellet gun on the bad guys he goes into the same thing Keith did..

"I know you man, I know what your thinking, Im just another crazy white boy with a gun, but human life means very little to me."

Trying to sound all hard as he did

reply

"Shrewd move Burger."

"We'll, find it. Find it,find it,find it!!"

"...And the air is just right for drinking."

"Oh I would pay a million pesos to see those bastards faces...."

"I said this sucks! And basically so do you." and then Carls reaction to this statement thinking their in deep shhh, and then when they all start laughing and then it 180's again with Louis reaching over to hit James.

reply

[deleted]

Thats right, that is a good one.

reply

My favorite: After Mario tazered Biff

Biff: Wha-What happened?

Mario: You got struck by lightning...

But Keith David did steal most of the scenes. This movie had a lot of laughs.

reply

My favorite is the pre-Mario tazering Biff....

"Who died and made you king!?"
"You know what? Ya motha did. Ya motha did, ya motha did, ya motha did!"
"That's enough...."

BZZZZZZ!

reply

Haven't seen this movie in forever...but all these quotes make me wanna see it again.

I actually laughed out loud on some.

And I always laughed every time Charlie choked Emilio and said...

"You're a stupid man James....you're a stupid little man!"

Hilarious.

Anyone remember what FERNOLOGY is?

reply

Just saw it myself this morning. An entertaining movie I will agree.

Phrenology is a pseudo-science by which a person's character, etc., is determined by analyzing the pattern, size and location of the bumps on one's skull.

reply

I use the "I'm a Phrenologist" line all the time. I've studied on this subject a little bit, and its good for surprise attacks. Likesay you'd sneak up on someone (a lady-friend lets say) and you ask them while feeling their skull, "Are you familiar with the antiquated study of Phrenology"? Try it, it's a good ice breaker at parties...or if you are with a girl you really like!

Champagne? Sure, if the Dom Perignon is chilled.

How did you know I had Dom?

Dosen't...everybody?

i like it this one
James: [offering a slice of pizza to the pizza delivery man] Are you hungry? Would you like some?
Louis: [having a Vietnam flashback] Don't give him any, James.
James: Why not? He might be hungry.
Louis: He's a prisoner; he should be treated accordingly.
James: Have you completely lost your mind? We're not soldiers and he's not the enemy. He's a pizza man.
