Why did they make the little girl so whiney and annoying? Every word she spoke made me cringe. She was an awful actress too.

shareI agree Mini-series Danny is annoying, but not nearly as annoying as Ellie is in this movie. The kid who played Danny is weird looking too and seems to be suffering from some sort of speech impediment which makes every line he speaks nearly impossible to understand. To be honest I'd be happy if Jack Torrence hunted either one down with a croquet mallet.

Because if Ellen had been hit by the truck Louis would probably have counted his blessings that the annoying, whining little *beep* was dead and let her stay that way. Plus the audience/reader has to actually care that the child died. Unfortunately for these reasons it had to be Gage :-( I cry every time I watch this part of the movie.
shareI'm watching it now and she is the most annoying child I have seen in a movie in a while. Whining, whining and then more whining. I just wanted her to shut the hell up. The wife got on my nerves as well.
