I give this movie an 8/10, I thought it was a very good sequel to the classic original and I always have a lot of fun watching this movie as I do with the original, I do agree this film isn't as great as the original but the fun factor of this movie still remains high

It's a solid 8-10 for me!
I'd give it a 9. What I liked about it was:
- Continued on from the original seamlessly. Characters are either expanded on or given cool new things to do or say.
- More Louis Tully ie becoming a Ghostbuster.
- Vigo was creepy and an original idea.
- Janosz was funny and creepy.
- The slime throwers were cool.
- The whole slime concept with the river under the city was new & imaginative as well.
- The whole original cast returning.
- Lots of memorable & funny dialogue.
- Same enjoyable tone as the first one.
- The new ecto mobile.
- Great ending when they control the statue of liberty with a Nintendo joystick.
Imdb message boards - kick someone's ass on the first day, or become someone's bitch.
The 1st one gets a 10, the 2nd gets a 9 or 9.5 IMO. I don't care what the detractors say, this sequel is awesome and I absolutely love it. I watch this one as much or even sometimes more than the 1st one.

shareI would go 8/10 as well. I've loved this one as a kid and recently caught it on tv, and was surprised by how much I still enjoyed it. The only real knock on this movie vs the original is that this one is more family friendly. While this one is a true PG movie, the first would have been PG-13 had that existed.
share7. This movie has some absolutely wonderful scenes. On par or superior even to scenes from the first film. But as a whole, the story is rather lackluster, it's occasionally boring, and biggest sin of all, a very anticlimactic ending.
